Unfortunate

Loved it on a paper strip, it smelled sweet and watery but with just the right amount of character imparted by the lotus.

Unfortunately, it was pretty overwhelming on my skin. It turned into this really overpowering sweet and waxy smell. Like someone extracted all the most synthetic components of Nivea cream and put them in a bottle. Felt a bit like being smothered in baby wipes.

First Impressions

The perfume smells strikingly fresh at first ... I would call it soapy, but I'm not exactly sure how mimosa smells. Never has a top note disappeared with such a "Hey, here I am" opening (really after 3-5 minutes), then the lotus comes through. No trace of the top note. It reminds me a lot of the body mist from Rituals. Although in the heart note, I find no mimosa. I know lotus scent to be fine and bright, but here I find it muted and somewhat smelling like "play dough." Perhaps the name doesn't refer to the flower at all, but rather the whole plant, with stem and everything. I didn't wait for the base note. To highlight the pink, the bloom, in the lotus, I layered it with Versace Bright Crystal.
