L.12.12 Blanc Eau Intense Review: Clean Cut for the Heat

L.12.12. Blanc Eau Intense by Lacoste is a smooth, fresh woody-spicy scent with a laid-back and clean personality. Opening with a crisp pop of mandarin and a soft touch of cardamom, it quickly settles into a breezy herbal heart of lavender, sage, and mugwort. The dry down leans creamy and slightly masculine with soft leather and sandalwood over a touch of vetiver. While both sillage and longevity are on the weak side, that actually makes it a solid choice for scorching days — like today’s 98°F heat in Maryland. It won’t overpower you or those around you, but still keeps you feeling fresh and pulled-together. Not groundbreaking, but easy to wear, very affordable under $40, and definitely has its place in a summer rotation.

Modern Green Freshie

With the highly praised L.12.12 Blanc Eau de Toilette, Lacoste's bestseller, this flanker has nothing to do with it (apart from the name).
It is a typical modern men's fragrance that starts off extremely fresh when sprayed, but loses this freshness completely within an hour. At the same time, it becomes increasingly spicy-green, and after about an hour and a half, a woody note also comes into play. The freshness of the beginning has a very slight citrus note, which, however, has already vanished after a few minutes - a pity. It rounded off the first impression nicely, and if the fragrance composition had been enriched with it permanently, it could have scored at least 1 point more.
However, L.12.12 Blanc Eau Intense transforms after a while into a 08/15 freshie, whose only not entirely ordinary characteristic is the green notes, which save it from complete insignificance.

The sillage is also not very impressive, as it could have benefited from significantly more projection and decreases after only 2 hours. The longevity is not convincing either, with only 4 hours until it is close to the skin.
I find the bottle, like the entire L.12.12 range, quite successful and even prefer it to the standard counterparts with the matte color. The gradient here is pretty and appealing, the ribbed pattern on the back looks nice, the attached fabric crocodile is cool, and the craftsmanship is quite high quality. However, the flacon is not elegant, beautiful, or eye-catching.
