Like a cashmere sweater for the senses

Warm, honeyed, woody, simply smooth, oud. Sweet and cozy, grown, like a cashmere sweater for the senses. Beautiful and totally unisex. Slightly spiced but not overly so, very well balanced and blended. Truly a perfect fall/ winter reach, pleasant while still remaining unique and classy. If you find oud bouquet too cloying, or want a simpler alternative this is it.

My first Oud fragrance... How cool! Oh no! Maybe not after all? Help...

Ôud Ambroisie had been on my wish list for a while. The bottles from the Les Parfums Grands Crus line by Lancôme are all super beautiful. But I was most interested in Oud Bouquet and this one. I didn't have any Oud fragrances in my collection so far. I had only tried TF's Oud Wood and Tobacco Oud. I then gifted the latter to my boyfriend. On his skin, TO is quite masculine and spicy. There was no trace of the typical barnyard Oud. So, after much back and forth, I finally dared to try an Oud fragrance for myself.

Sniffing the little bottle, the fragrance roars at you like a lion. Phew, I thought. But I like!
Sweet, oriental, and smoky. So I thought, eyes closed and onto the skin...

The opening is quite alcoholic and seems relatively quiet. Hmm, where has the lion gone?!
After a few minutes, I can already smell the Oud well. But it smells woody-spicy and thank God not like a cattle pasture. Oud plays the main role on my skin here. Even though honey is highlighted in the notes, it only plays a supporting role for me. It's not as sweet on my skin as it is on the spray head.
Although I initially thought that was it, after about 30 minutes a slightly rosy note comes through. However, you really have to engage with the fragrance; otherwise, you might not notice it. And since the fragrance was so sh** expensive, of course, I do that ;D
Fortunately, patchouli does not come through for me. That would be too much for me.
From this point on, the fragrance doesn't really change anymore. Towards the end, it becomes a bit sweeter and slightly smoky.

Sillage and longevity are bomb. Although I initially thought it wouldn't be that strong on me, I was still asked after about 5-6 hours if I had just applied perfume. Like with BR540: I can't smell it that strongly again... That's why here, one spray is really enough. Max. 2 for the evening. Because with that, you stand out! It's also more suited for the cold months.

Conclusion:
So that was my comment on my first Oud fragrance, and I must say, I don't regret it! Ôud Ambroisie is a very beautiful fragrance and I will definitely wear it more often on cold days. I must also test Oud Bouquet when I get the chance, as it seems to smell delicious with praline and saffron :)

My poor wallet...

Golden Autumn Sun

A nice lady and these warm golden shimmering bottles. Incredible. Elegant. Magnetic closure. Crystal glass. Each bottle with its own engraving on the theme, here Ambrosia.
It has something. Looks expensive. €190 for 100ml of resinous orange-colored Eau de Parfum.
3 scents with OUD. 3 without. Although the ones without are very sweet.
Let's stick with Oud Ambroisie from the "Les Parfums Grands Crus" collection.

Ambrosia it shall be, because the theme is not as overused as rose or jasmine and
it made the best impression on paper as well.
Not too heavy from the oud oil nor medicinal. Rather creamy voluminous, orangey and exotic. I think of Ferragamo - Golden Acacia. Is there rum in it?
It's like a setting sun in autumn and the scent of fields full of yellow flowers. Cozy warm. A slightly herbal note is occasionally distracting, but only when you sniff very close to the skin.
The OUD-rose gets overshadowed here and the rum-honey scented creaminess prevails.
Perhaps the scent is a bit unexciting and linear, but it lasts long and radiates for meters. Made for both men and women.
It surely existed before, but not with this power and the amazing bottle.
Recommendation for OUD-honey lovers who like it stronger.

What a honeyed rose should be: incredibly lush, juicy and effusive, tempered by the the slightest oud. The bottle is a work of art alone.

OA is everything I was missing in Baccarat Rouge 540. Velvety rose with a delicate sweetness that looks golden yellow like drops of honey. Fantastic scent!
