The sillage is pretty light as a whole
Like a wave of emotion sweeping through you, Cœur Battant is an invitation to listen to your heart and live every moment with passion.

Cœur Battant starts off with its pear note out in full force. Very juicy and it smells great, helping to give this perfume an aquatic character right from the start. The ambrette note is ever-present in the mix and plays an early supporting role for the pear.

However, the patchouli is probably the second strongest note, in the beginning of the wear. It’s a fruit-chouli sort of scent early on, with aquatic touches. But, these notes will wain and the white floral notes rise to join the pear.

Jasmine is the strongest of the floral notes at first, but the perfume becomes much more balanced with narcissus and ylang-ylang. It has a nice sweetness and the floral notes don’t ever come across as too heavy nor green.

The final dry down is mostly a light floral with the remaining ambrette coming through. The floral notes, at this point are really distinguishable from one another, to my nose. There is some type of mossy note in this, as well. But, it’s really not that strong in the composition.

Fall/winter chypre!
I wrote this one off pretty quickly after the first sniff. I tried it out a few times during the spring and summer, and found it kind of weird, but in a good way. I wore it the other day on a chillier day in NYC day and was blown away by how much I was enjoying my scent bubble.

As others mentioned, Cœur Battant is like a sister to Attrape-Rêves with a similar fruity-floral-patchouli combo. But CB gives classy, but sexy older sister, while AR is the flirty, fun, still sexy, but younger sister. The oakmoss note is really what sets the two apart, and gives CB that classy, 80s/90s chypre vibe but modernized and made somehow fresh and aquatic? It’s a really interesting composition and juxtaposition of fruits, flowers, and earthy notes.

I feel like the disdain/hate that this scent gets is understandable, but also a bit unfair unless you’ve tried it in different seasons. Yes, it’s got some challenging notes (I usually HATE oakmoss), but it’s not a bad scent. IMO it’s a scent better suited for the cooler weather because all of the notes really get to shine. I recall finding it cloying in the summer, and just okay in the spring. But it’s an absolute stunner as a daytime fall/winter scent. I wore it to work the other day and could not get enough of it.

The performance is excellent, with moderate to strong projection for about 4-5 hours and stays on pretty much all day. While I really enjoy this scent, a full bottle wouldn’t make sense in my collection. However, I will continue enjoying my decant and keeping decants of it around.

Pear Dream
The probably best Louis Vuitton on the market. A wonderful combination of a sweet, delicious pear paired with a beautiful floral daffodil. Longevity and sillage are unfortunately on the lower end of the average, as is usual for LV. Wearable for nearly every season and occasion.

My first Louis Vuitton fragrance
The first spray, eyes closed, deep breath. The scent envelops me, it becomes one with my skin and I am in love.
It smells wonderfully floral and fresh, with a slight earthy note in the air.
Jasmine and pear are the heart of the fragrance. Musk, daffodil, and patchouli provide the heart with the necessary nutrients. The ambrette seeds and cascalone bring the oxygen and keep the fragrance heart beating all day long.

Fruity ozonic pear, softly accompanied by white flowers. Slightly powdery later on

There's plenty of development packed into the entire wear & needs some time to truly reveal itself. I's interesting, dynamic, & fairly unic

Slightly sweet fruits and multicolored floral notes are the stars, kind of like a slightly enhanced AnOther 13 Eau de Parfum.

LV simply creates attractive floral gardens. My heart beats for such scents. Mild, fresh, well-groomed, yet radiant and warm.

Pear paired with sensual ambrette - floats weightlessly. It blooms softly. Sitting in the moss, I enjoy the lightness of nature.

One of the most beautiful floral scents of late! It blew me away! It’s like I smell a honey note, but it’s not listed...
