Discontinued floral-gourmand gem
My one and only M. Micallef and it’s an absolute love for me. I tend to gravitate toward flormand (floral-gourmand) fragrances for their duality: they offer the beauty and grace of florals but the sweet and fun side to gourmand fragrances.
Fleur Poème is the perfect example of a flormand with tuberose and violet at its heart and surrounded by a bunch of yumminess. The scent starts off very fruity, and the addition of caramel makes the scent very sweet. As it has time to settle, the violet and tuberose (the stronger of the two florals) take center stage without any of the sweetness being lost. The overall profile is the best ‘bubblegum tuberose’ that I’ve personally come across. It’s so romantic and flirty, but still very graceful and sophisticated? I disagree with the notion that it resembles Kilian LDBS. LDBS is miles sweeter than this and the floral composition is totally different.
The performance on this is excellent, can still smell it on your clothes for days after it’s been applied and has great sillage and longevity (7+ hours). Perfect for year round wear, but just apply less in the summertime as it could be too much mixed with high heat. Sad to hear this beauty has been discontinued, but so glad to have a bottle of my own.
