A Compelling Minimalist Sweet Vanilla Oriental...
Vanille Orient opens immediately with a highly sweetened mildly powdered vanilla. The already sweet vanilla is sweetened even further by a sweet amber and sandalwood combination rising from the base, joined only by very mild spices to support the trio. The scent is very minimalist and linear in general like the rest of the Art Collection Vanille releases, with the vanilla amber and sandalwood pretty much all co-starring throughout here. Projection is below average to average and longevity is average to above average.

Vanille Orient is another successful Micallef release, but this one is quite sweet and is just a bit harder to wear than the other scents in the series accordingly. The vanilla, sandalwood and amber really mesh well together and all ingredients have quality written all over them. The scent is definitely unisex, but more-so than the others in the series I think this one leans just a tad on the feminine side of the spectrum. My only issue apart from the slightly overdone sweetness is that I think Micallef could have added a bit more to the scent, as it may be just a bit *too* minimalist to my taste (especially at its relatively lofty $145 for 50ml or $225 for 100ml price point). Vanille Orient may not be the best in the Art Collection Vanille series, but it is still a very good release that earns a strong 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5.
