If I Were a Bumblebee
I would be so hungry right now. The finest flower nectar of the lily, not at all opulent, paired with the sweetest, thickest ylang I have ever smelled, mixes with alabaster-colored, slightly sweet milk, as if a mini bag of vanilla sugar had been stirred in. Luckily, I don't smell coconut, or only in a minimalist form. Powdery, yes, if you move your nose a little away from your wrist, definitely. Primarily, however, the scent is milky for me.
I can't detect lime and jasmine, but they are likely responsible for this lily creation since lily itself is not listed. And yes, lily, because the very first breath of air reminds me, in a very, very subtle way, of Baiser Vóle by Cartier.
Later on, it reminds me of delicate baby skin, mixed with that slightly sweet smell when it has just drunk milk. An incredibly caressing scent.
And despite all that, it also has an exotic note due to the ylang.
Now I've gone from the bumblebees, through the baby, to the Caribbean. Oh well, the baby can come on vacation.

The Fresh Frenchwoman
(...actually the advertisement was called "The Fresh Frenchman", but Lilylang is so delicate and feminine that no association with a beret-wearing chain smoker in a red wine haze arises.)
Today I held the first bottle of this fragrance in my hands. Even the unboxing was pure pleasure: A band with the name, logo, and other information tightly wraps around a metal canister in trendy rose gold. Inside is the round, hand-friendly bottle, which is also very well crafted and has a heavy cap.
The first spray is trendy, candy-like sweet with spicy floral undertones. But this déjà vu is the only phase in which Lilylang shows certain similarities with a few girly Guerlains. Because from there it gets interesting: Lilylang transforms, morphs into a new direction for me - becoming minty-fresh and powdery. Green, clean notes blend with gourmand and floral moments, creating a feeling of freshness and at the same time an intense sense of well-being. Compared to the other Delacourtes from the Muscs line, I find Lilylang to be skinnier, which fits perfectly, as Lilylang seems to be made for treating oneself well. However, due to its subtlety, it can also easily be worn in the office, where one will feel (almost) pampered, cared for, powdered, and loved all day long.
A light floral-powdery sweetness can still be detected after hours. Lilylang is delicate, but has immense staying power. Tough little beauty!

Like Cats and Caves Made of Cushions and Blankets!
So, this is the fourth Sylvaine Delacourte fragrance that I am testing. I found the previous three fragrances (Dovana, Florentina, and Smeraldo) really great and would definitely recommend them to you ladies.
The fourth one is primarily based on Ylang-Ylang (at least according to the "fragrance pyramid"), and I hope that the scent doesn’t come off as too stuffy, as I sometimes feel when a fragrance contains Ylang-Ylang.

However, if the quality of the fragrance is like the others, then I am sure this one will be lovely as well.

As always, my thanks go to a very dear perfumer from whom I received these fragrances. Even if she should be so quirky that she named one of her furry creatures after a tree (hopefully the other cats don’t think of him as a scratching post because of that! :DD).

The Scent:
The fragrance starts with a powdery-creamy note that smells very pleasant and gives you the feeling of being wrapped in a soft, cozy blanket (yes, you ladies will surely love that! :D). There’s a splash of lime that provides a brief fresh "taste."
The jasmine quickly makes its presence known and adds a lovely sweetness to the scent, without drifting into overly sweet territory.
Soon after, the Ylang-Ylang comes into play, which, as "feared," does smell floral and stuffy (but not suffocating), yet in combination with the gentle notes here, it comes across as somewhat tamer than usual, allowing the fragrance to remain cozy.
In the base, the fragrance doesn’t change much, so it stays delicate, creamy, and powdery with the floral notes and a bit of sweetness from the jasmine (and later also a bit from the musk, just as indicated in the fragrance list below).

The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is above average and will therefore be detectable at a medium distance for a while.
I found the longevity to be quite decent at six to seven hours.

The Bottle:
The bottle is slightly rounded and filled with clear fragrance liquid. On the front, there’s a label that shows not only the fragrance name but also a drawing of a plant… um, is that Ylang-Ylang? I have no idea? It looks somewhat like a sun :D
The cap is cylindrical and bronze-colored. I think the bottle looks quite nice.

Okay, the scent of Ylang-Ylang is, as you know, a bit heavier and smells somewhat stuffy, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming, as many gentle notes work here that make the fragrance, as described, powdery and soft.

It feels like the cozy fur of a cat when these furry monsters are lying quietly somewhere or even sleeping and are not wildly confronting us can openers. On the contrary, it’s like the lovely feeling on cold days when the tomcat or the cat comes over and snuggles up to you, warming you with his or her body heat, making you generally a bit happier for the moment :)

In terms of scent, it’s actually an all-rounder, although it should be a bit stronger for autumn and especially for winter. On the other hand, it’s a wonderful fragrance to wrap yourself in soft blankets at home on cold days (best to build a cave out of cushions and blankets!! :DD), set out some delicious cookies, and get tea or coffee. And then grumble in annoyance because the cat has touched all the cookies while you were getting tea (or coffee) :D

Yes, I liked the fragrance very much, just like the others, and I can only recommend you scratchy ladies… uh, I meant you lovely ladies to give the scent a try :)

Gentle glide of exotic flowers on creamy, sun-warmed skin...
Lilylang surprised me greatly. How beautiful this fragrance is.
Sylvaine Delacourte was the creative director of perfumes at Guerlain for 15 years. You can somehow smell that in Lilylang. A truly light, soft, rounded composition of powdery-creamy notes paired with exotic flowers and fluffy musk. The scent strongly reminds me of some wonderful Guerlain fragrances without the typical vanilla.

With Lilylang, I am instantly transported to an Indonesian beach.
Sandy beach as far as the eye can see, hammocks strung between palm trees, frangipanis, and ylang-ylang trees.
The sweet floral nuances, spread by the warmth and a gentle breeze, caress my senses.
The sun rays warm my creamy skin. The notes of my freshly squeezed orange juice occasionally fizz in my nose.
A salty hint of the sea mingles with the warm sand, giving a gentle mineral note that creates a homogeneous blend with the nuances of the flowers.
I enjoy life, hear the sound of the sea, the gentle music of the locals drifting to my ears from afar.
I feel liberated, have regained my inner peace, and am fully present in the moment.

This fragrance is as soft as a second skin. Close to the body without strong projection. This gentle caress comes from cozy and silky musk notes. Ylang-ylang and jasmine are not at all heavy or dense to my nose. The entire scent is fluffy, airy bright, and creamy delicate.

Yes, Lilylang is dreamily beautiful, a true soul fragrance.

Other fragrances by Sylvaine Delacourte are also absolutely worth trying! She creates very beautiful scents. Lilylang is from the "Musc Collection" - Some are fruity, clean, or even woody, but all are soft.

Whipped Floral Cream
In my search for a summer scent, I came across Lilylang.
For me, the fragrance starts with a minimal citrus note. I don't detect the pepper at all. From the very beginning, I have one thought in my mind: The scent has a distinct consistency. It is thoroughly creamy. The fragrance catapults me into a tropical garden of a high-end resort. Sultry ylang-ylang and sweet jasmine take center stage. Musk makes the flowers soft and incredibly creamy. The scent is bright, fluffy. Like a whipped, high-quality body lotion. It has a subtle sweetness. Powdery nuances are also noticeable. In the drydown, it is much more beautiful than at the top.
Lilylang has strength and certainly has the potential to cause headaches for some people. But for me, it reflects lightness amidst all the flowers. In any case, it is beautifully composed. I am not entirely convinced that it won't become annoying at some point. But for now, it's a good candidate for summer when a refreshment isn't necessary.

On women, I really like the scent: powdery, bright, white floral, with a tangy freshness deep in the heart: subtly erotic.
