Gourmand Oud

I wasn't really expecting to fall hard for this scent like I did.

From the first whiff, I got a super dark mysterious and smooth smoking oud covered in cocoa butter, cinnamon, ginger and chocolate.

It's really delicious that I was dying to try the original scent - Oud Cadenza by Maison Crivelli. At some point, I actually started to get hungry.
P.S: Don't wear this when you are hungry otherwise you might bite off your wrist. Lol.

I also do get a tiny bit of saffron, dates and leather in the background. I think this might be the best gourmand scent I have ever tried apart from Dolce and Gabbana Devotion.

I can't wait to layer this with Dior Homme Intense in the chilly weather and see how good I will be smelling.

Btw ladies if you love Burberry Goddess and the likes of Kayali Vanilla 28, you should definitely check this out.

Scent:
This fragrance is definitely not for the faint of heart, nor for those who like mass appealing fragrances. The fragrance is not your typical Scent that you're used to smelling at the mall or one that you're immediately drawn to. This fragrance will be challenging for those who like "Blue Scents" and for those who are not used to niche perfumery. Also, if you are expecting a "Full On Gourmand", then you also might not like it and might be disappointed, because this is not a Gourmand at all. It concentrates more on the Oud & Smoke/Incense. The scent opens up with a blast of Oud, Leather, Incense, Vanilla, and a dash of fruitiness from the Dates. Throughout the life of the fragrance that's basically what you'll get, at least that's what I got. Later on the Incense & Vanilla will become the star players of the fragrance while the Oud, Leather, and Dates take a backseat. The scent is fine to me, it wasn't challenging to me, since I'm open minded when it comes to fragrances and I like to try different styles of Scents. Once again, this fragrance is not for those who only like mass appealing fragrances. This is more for those who want to branch out and try new styles of Scents. This is also not unisex, at least to me. The leather and oud notes really hit hard with this one. I don't think the ladies will like this one as much.

Performance:
Now, this is where the fragrance somewhat disappointed me. I was reading reviews stating how this was "explosive", "Room filling", and "obnoxious". Personally, that wasn't the case with me. Now, I'm not saying it was weak by any means, because it wasn't. It just wasn't "Beast Mode" & "Filling Rooms" for hours, the way some have stated. It was Above Avarage for me. For the first 30mins this is where the fragrance is somewhat strong. It will travel 5-6ft within those 30mins, but at the 1hr mark that's where it dials back quite a bit. At that time it's a little beyond arm's length, and by the 2nd hour it's at Arm's Length, which is not bad. Also, the Strength of the projection is on the moderate side, it really never "suffocated" me with 6 Sprays. It was somewhat light. The sillage was also moderate on me. The Longevity, however, was pretty good. I got about 9hrs Total, which is not bad! Maybe as I let it sit, Performance will become better? Batch 2/25

Winter, Late Fall, and maybe Early Spring nights when it's cool.

Not for beginners

Only a truly trained noses can appreciate the complexity of this fragrance it’s really screechy and leathery on the opening as it cools down it gets smoother almost syrupy the dates and the vanilla peaks through more and more and becomes sweeter, when it completely cools down it almost smells like stronger with you parfum.
The versatility is good for a oud fragrance i’d use it for anything really in the cooler weather

Cocoa Morado

On my chest this is a spicy, leathery cola scent. My hands aren't as warm and the scent from spraying the back of them is much creamier, with noticable saffron and oud, and lots of cocoa-buttery caramel. Very gourmand.

Surprisingly good in hot weather too, it's not as strong as I thought it'd be and the heat also mutes it a bit.

Unisex, but not for everybody.

8 to 10 hours longevity over heavy moisturiser in hot weather, with a moderate to intimate sillage in 3 hours or so from 4 sprays, some which got on my clothes.
Edit: This review was originally posted in June and I got through a whole bottle of this stuff over the next two months as it's just so damn good. I was wearing it daily and topping up several times throughout the day and night to the point where after about a week, my flat and all my clothes were infused with Cocoa Morado. It was gorgeous. It never got overpowering or unpleasant, it was like living in a bubble of creamy cola oud.

On bottle 2 now and have slowed down a bit, good things should be savoured and I have so much more perfume to wear and discover yet, but every so often it's so nice to get back in that bubble for a few days.

This is one of the best perfumes I've ever encountered and I cannot recommend it enough.

Niche smell with only 30$

I just don't care what others say, this is one of the best cheap fragrances you can get.
The ones who said it's bad, have their nose broken or they are used with lame designer perfumes only.
Cacao Morado smells just great and it smells niche all the way. I don't feel too much smokey notes but it smells fantastic and it smells like a niche fragrance with a price above 400$.
The longevity is very good but the sillage not that good. Fill the room? Not a chance.
I just received it and immediately ordered a backup bottle.
