More than just whiskey
You can smell many different notes, including fruit soaked in whiskey. And then imagine that the fruit in the whiskey goes a bit off, it goes a bit bad... And yet, in the end, it still turns out quite good.

And at the end it doesn't matter if some people don't like your perfume. After all that is why wearing a perfume is such an intimate thing...

The Scent of Necessity
Foreword:
Well then. Vulcan Sable by French Avenue. Currently, there are very few reviews for this fragrance here, but these few reviews are nonetheless a small exclamation point for the fleeting reader. A 9.0 for this scent. That, along with a little research here and another small review there, led me to ultimately press the "Order Button." For several days now, I have had the opportunity to test it and want, no better - must - now write my review about it. Perhaps some of you have already read one or another of my reviews here and know that I like to write in images. The fragrance notes, embedded in the moment of a story. And with Vulcan Sable, it was the time around the turn of the century when the Ottoman Empire entered into an alliance with the German Empire.

Constantinople, September 1914.
The sun falls flat on the parquet floor, as if it too knows that something has changed. The salon is old, but its silence is not tired - it is awake.
Ready.
Filled with the thoughts of a great power that is no longer expanding but reacting.

An officer stands by the window.
He does not look outside - he waits for what must be said.
The air smells of dry spice, of past glory, of sand that was once hot and now trickles between the papers.

Vulcan Sable fills the room, not with fragrance, but with presence.
It begins with a hint of mandarin and orange, not fresh, but sun-dried, carried by a fine dryness that does not thirst but shapes - like the desert, which knows no mercy but still holds beauty.

Then: Whisky!
Not for celebration, but for understanding.
A scent that settles, like a word that is not spoken immediately.

And beneath it all:
Tonka bean. Vanilla. Cocoa.
Not sweet - but reminiscent.
Like documents in dusty leather. Like the echo of glory that no longer screams - but remains.

For the truth is:
The Ottoman Empire does not negotiate because it wants to, but because it must.
Because the sand beneath its feet is shifting, because the seas are uncertain, the coffers empty, the dreams fragmented.

Yet the scent remains dignified.

For Vulcan Sable does not smell of defeat.
It smells of wise strategy, of the attempt not to lose but to transform.
A fragrance that does not sound like departure - but like the final access to creation...
____________________________

Vulcan Sable is for me the scent of an era that knows it is waning - but does not lose its pride in the process. This dry, sandy opening - like breath on hot stone - then the whisky voice that gives more answers than it asks questions. And finally this deep, dark base of cocoa, vanilla, tonka bean - like the last grand sentence in a contract that protects more than it demands.
A scent of necessity. And of the dignity within it. With a glance and the hope for a new glorious time.

Serefe! - To honor!

Unfortunately received rather moderately in my environment
On the whole, I don't find the "Vulcan Sable | French Avenue" that bad, but the scent doesn't seem to suit me very well - at least the fragrance didn't make a great impression in my work environment. The longevity on my skin is excellent at more than 12 hours, and the sillage is also impressive.

The top note starts off fruity, sweet, and oriental-spicy with aromas of whiskey, orange marmalade, dried plums, sultanas, mandarin peels, coriander seeds, nutmeg, allspice, anise, and a hint of peat. The heart note continues to be spicy, sweet, but also woody, dark, gourmand, resinous, smoky, creamy, and powdery with hints of cashmeran, cedarwood, tonka beans, bitter almonds, styrax, and sandalwood. The base has a balsamic, still sweet, and leathery scent of amber, benzoin, cocoa beans, and vanilla.

It’s probably also due to the season that I don't really like the "Vulcan Sable | French Avenue," even though the fragrance is quite complex. I think it might be too much for me in winter as well. I thank Carsten for the sample.

Gentle Chocolate, Noble Whiskey
Vulcan Sable is a fragrance that makes an immediate impression. Upon the first spray, one perceives a creamy, slightly sweet chocolate note that instantly conveys a pleasant feeling. Alongside this, there is a hint of whiskey that adds an elegant depth to the composition, and a fine spiciness that gives the scent character without ever becoming too loud.

What particularly surprised me: On the very first wear, I received three compliments right away. Everyone wanted to know what fragrance this was. And this was completely unsolicited. Vulcan Sable attracts attention without being intrusive. It feels noble, soft, and yet extraordinary.

The longevity is absolutely strong. I was able to perceive it effortlessly throughout the entire day, and even in the evening, it was still distinctly present. The sillage is striking; it leaves a warm trail that stands out positively without dominating.

For me, Vulcan Sable is a serious alternative to Sand Dance. It goes in a similar direction but brings its own charm and does not fall short of the original. Especially when considering the price, it can definitely hold its own against Sand Dance.

Am I the only one who smells Lion Cereals?
The scent is really interesting - and I believe fans of cocoa, whisky, or generally gourmand notes (plus smoky nuances) will find this quite satisfying!

But what immediately came to mind during the first sniff: ..Lion Cereals©?
Yes - those chocolate-caramel cornflakes that were a bit of an addiction in my childhood.

I could never hold back - and that exact feeling came rushing back to me with the first whiff of this fragrance.
Even now, as I write this, I'm getting hungry for them again.
I wonder if anyone can relate to this cornflakes association..

Anyway, back to the scent:
So far, I've only been able to test it on warmer days.
The longevity is quite good, and the projection is really strong.
Still, I have a feeling that it would be much better suited for winter.
I am very curious to see how it develops in the cold!

A unique scent that’s addictive! Smells like a piece of dark chocolate lightly dusted next to a glass of whiskey.

The forgotten chocolate lies in the dry desert sand.
A last drop falls from the tipped-over whiskey bottle...
The sun is blazing.

For me, it's a superb blend of dark gourmand and mystical oriental. Longevity and sillage are incredibly strong.

You can smell the whiskey well and for a long time. Subtle, yet always present sweetness. Spicy, dry. Smells noticeably more expensive. Recommendation!

Oriental, dry, spicy, slightly boozy, earthy & heavy with a subtle sweetness.
Good execution, but unfortunately it doesn't suit my taste.

The dry spiciness really reminds me of the desert. I would need more sweetness, fruit, or something to turn the bottle into a flacon.

Starts dry and spicy, then becomes deliciously gourmand sweet. Sillage is okay, not overwhelming but that's fine. No blind buy, please test beforehand.
