Sometimes, though, there’s no choice, as the perfume is only available in 75ml or 100ml.
What size of bottle do you prefer?

I tend to prefer 30 or 50 ml especially for a first purchase. But I buy bigger bottles of my all times favorite perfumes.
The same for me
I tell people to buy the smallest size they can. And I always intend to do this. And then I fall in love with a fragrance and buy 100ml because I’m sure I’ll use it all. It’s a sickness!

It's an addiction
When choosing a perfume bottle, it's always a balancing act between price, practicality, and the desire to finish the fragrance. It sounds like you enjoy using up a bottle, which is easier with smaller sizes like 30ml or 50ml. But you're right—sometimes a 100ml bottle offers better value for money.
If a luxury perfume is one I truly love, I’ll lean toward the larger bottle, especially if it’s a good deal. But if I’m not sure how much I’ll use it, I usually go for the smaller size to avoid committing to too much of a fragrance that might not be perfect.
How do you usually make that decision? Do you go with what feels like the best value, or do you tend to choose based on how much you think you'll wear a particular scent?
I find the really big bottles a little too unwieldy; like I fumbled one (post shower, maybe my hands weren't dry) trying to spray both of my arms and I broke the cap.
I dread finishing a bottle and not having a fragrance I like so much anymore in case it gets discontinued, so I usually prefer 100ml bottles.
I tend to go for the 100ml ones when that's possible.
While I understand they're technically a scam that makes me spend more money on a product I probably won't ever use up fully, I accept that. If it makes me less likely to run out of a thing that makes me happy – that's good! If those bottles will outlive me – whatever, that won't be my problem anyway.
The sizes of bottles depend on the Fragrance Categories. EDC, EDT or EDP.
For example, I usually get those Agua De Colonia Eau de Cologne - EDC. Agua in 200 -250 or 750ml., the Colognes Eau de Toilette - EDT Cologne in 100 or 150ml, and the Eau de Parfum EDP Parfum in 50 or 70ml.
That makes sense . I've noticed that a lot of designer perfumes (EDP) online are only available in 100 ml though. Guerlains (Les Legendaires) only in 75 ml.
Usually the middle size ones. Like, if they offer 30, 60 and 90ml, I'll go for the 60ml. I don't buy the smaller ones bc if I'm buying a fragrance it's bc I tested it before and really loved it. But not the larger ones bc I get sick of scents after a while and need to constantly rotate them, so they tend to last a while on my hands. Middle size is perfect and also has some nice cost-benefit compared to the small ones.
I like to buy the smallest bottle possible since I like experimenting with my fragrances so much! If there's a scent I really like I'll buy a whole bottle but even then I prefer to stick to travel sizes for portability and so I don't have too much perfume to go through at once.
50ml aren't enough for me to feel like I can spray all I want, but more than 100ml can be a bit annoying to handle.
So, either 75ml or 100ml.
I only buy the bigger bottles (100ml etc) if they are the fragrances that I 100% will empty.
In this case only Detour Noir Exclusif and
Bvlgari Man In Black , as they are my two main scents.
100 ml and above.
Justifying my purchases, especially for 200$ + per bottle
50 ml if I love it and I know I will wear it often.
I have one fragrance that is100 ml and even though I love it, I wish I chose the 50 ml instead. At the time, I thought perfumes were meant to last a lifetime. Later, I realized it is not that simple.
Usually if I like something and know that I will be wearing it a lot, 5-10 ml will be perfect for me.

50-100ml at least as you never know when things could be discontinued. I would say more but since I am moving country soon over 100ml is a bit of a nightmare especially if it is expensive products that can’t go in the hand luggage.
I like the 50ml design over the 100ml of Xerjoff though and they are my favourite bottles of all houses.
If it's a summer freshie, I tend to buy the bigger size bottle because I know I'm gonna bathe with that kind of fragrance 😂 As an over-sprayer, finishing a 50ml bottle is not a big challenge for me. That said, as my collection grows over time I find certain fragrances do not get used as often as others ☹️
As someone who travels a lot and always takes the actual bottle rather than decants , smaller bottles are easy to travel with. But sometimes, just because of pure aesthetics, I will buy the bigger bottle regardless of how often I might wear it.
For me this is an extremely tricky question. I would love to never finish a bottle and just have enough left in my all bottles to enjoy them my whole lifetime so that I wouldn't have to be stressed of running out and repurchasing. I know that bigger bottle sizes would be cheaper per litre, however my collection is about 1,000 bottles so for most fragrances for example 100 ml would be absolutely too much for me and I wouldn't use even half of it during my lifetime so it would actually be complete waste of money. Also the more air the bottle contains the more likely the liquid gets oxidized quicker so I would be constantly worried of the amount of air in half used big bottles. Then again I would be worried of running out completely of my discontinued favourites if their bottles were too small size. In an ideal world where I had unlimited amount of money, I would actually buy several 30 ml bottles of my all favourites so that one would be in use and others in my storage as backups. That way I wouldn't run out of them ever but they wouldn't oxidize either. There are also some fragrances that I absolutely love to wear about once in 5 years or only in very special few occasions. For those ones 30 ml or even a 5 - 15 ml mini bottle could be enough to last my whole lifetime.
Depends on if I collect the house or not. For example, I've been working on Guerlain men's line and I'm getting 100ML bottles. Outside of that, I really like the 30ML size so I've been doing a lot of decants and then selling the rest to a new home. Wish more companies offered their releases at that size because I think it's perfect, especially for those that have large collections.
