What tuberose fragrances do you love or hate and why?

I’m head-over heels besotted with Maison Crivelli’s Tubereuse Astral. It’s bad-ass in all the best ways and opens with a spicy cinnamon note that sets the stage for a creamy, buttery tuberose who shakes her hips and shimmy’s with vitality and sass for the best part of 8 hours. The dry-down is a contrasting cozy vanilla-musk love-fest. Glorious.

Thanks for sharing - I will sample Tragedy and Do Son. Fracas gets a lot of influencer love but I’ve not tried it yet.

Loved:

ānti Paura dell'Acqua (just a well-done green fresh dewy simple tuberose scent)

L'Entropiste Jodhpur 6AM (a tea scent with tuberose acting as a part of the tea smell; a very unusual use of tuberose)

Sarah Baker Jungle Jezebel (campy aggressive tuberose, in the best way possible)

Olympic Orchids Tropic of Capricorn (an excellent blend of tuberose and hyraceum; it smells exactly like a night in the jungle)

Dior Poison (a classic; the reason I started liking tuberose as a note)

Hated:

Frederic Malle Carnal Flower (a combination of eucalyptus, coconut, and tuberose that almost made me throw up upon smelling it; I find it absolutely vile - a bit of an unpopular opinion, considering the 7.9/10 rating)

Alkemia Foxfire (sugar note, aldehydes, and tuberose together do not work for me; it makes tuberose smell like sweet soap, and not in a good way)

Aldebaran is a bit of a trip, but I love it. I've heard it's similar to Tubéreuse Astrale, same perfumer. On the more feminine side, my wife loves Narcotic V. Extrait de Parfum, I think it's the best tuberose I've smelled on her

The best for me are Marfa Eau de Parfum and Tubéreuse Astrale

I love so many .. Do Son( only the edt!) and the horribly underrated Joyeuse Tuberose.. they scream springtime in particular for me and I was ready for winter to end last autumn.

My favorite so far is Tuberóza Extrait de Parfum. Mugwort gives it just enough green freshness to smell juicy and fun without going into straight up cabbage territory. I'd love to eventually find more perfumes that fall into this particular tuberose genre.

The least favorite has to be Aldebaran. I wouldn't say I hate it, but it's certainly the first thing that comes to mind when I think of tuberose perfumes I would not want to wear ever again.

Recently I got a sample of La Terre, La Nuit (there is my review just in case) and even if I shouldn't like it and it smells of old prostitute... somehow I'm growing the idea of wearing it a couple of times.

Your descriptions of Pura dell’Acqua and Jodphur 6AM, Jungle Jezebel and Tropic of Capricorn make me want to blind buy bottles! Thanks for sharing your likes.  I am in two minds with Carnal Flower - I find the opening a little hospital-like which I’ve always attributed to the uneasy combination of eucalyptus and melon. However,  as soon as the top fades and the white floral coconut-infused musky miasma descends, I am much happier. I have to admit I find it an easier wear than POAL. 

Your wife has superb taste! I am also charmed by Narcotic V - it’s such a luscious, overblown tuberose, quite lovely!

Goodness, I m always ready for winter to end! You’re the second person to rate Do Son, it must definitely be worth sampling. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve not heard of this fragrance before but, given its 8.5 rating, it seems to have a fan club. Thanks for sharing.

It was released in 2023, got a sample from an online perfume shop included in a order last year.

My absolute favorite tuberose is Moon Bloom - it's super heady, so maybe not for everyone, but once it settles down after a few minutes it's just so rich, creamy, and spicy. A couple sprays and it will last most of the day, too!

Joyeuse Tubéreuse and Tuberose Angelica are two green, fresher tuberoses I love.

And I agree, Narcotic V. Extrait de Parfum is beautiful! I also get a lot of jasmine in this.

I'm also a fan of tuberose and need to keep an eye on this thread. I haven't tried many recent releases that feature it, but I already see a couple listed here I'm curious to try.

I enjoy Tuberosis and Gozo.

Tuberose is usually a love note for me. Actually I don't hate any fragrances - even the ones I personally dislike, I appreciate as works of art. Anyway, my favourite tuberose fragrances are

I personally enjoy tuberose when it’s creamy and slightly sweet rather than overly sharp. One fragrance from Armaf that I like is La Rosa Eau de Parfumit has a nice floral blend where tuberose sits in the heart with jasmine and ylang-ylang, giving it a soft but elegant white-floral feel.

The name is misleading, but Jasmine Freak leans more toward tuberose than jasmine. It's fruity and creamy and bright.

I am a certified tuberose hater but ones I do love is French Flower, Casablanca Lily, and Florgasm

You can try fragrances like Tres Jour Eau de Parfum for a softer, creamy white-floral vibe or Tubéreuse Astrale if you want something bolder, spicier and more luxurious. I love tuberose fragrances because they feel creamy, elegant, slightly bold and have a beautifully rich floral character.

Carnal Flower is often praised because it balances tuberose's rich creaminess with fresh green notes, making it feel elegant rather than heavy, while Nishane Tuberoza is loved by some for its intensity but can be too bold for others.
