a fragrance watercolor
The house of Fragonard still has very beautiful floral scents in its collection.
Fragrances that are created with a lot of love and craftsmanship, without much fuss, and that delight me time and again.
(Yes, it doesn't always have to be "fragrance caviar" from houses with impressively sounding names!)
While "Marché aux Fleurs" was my first stroll with this brand through the flower market of Nice, "Pois de Senteur" is a late spring bouquet, loosely arranged in a simple glass, serving as a model for a fragrance watercolor.
Everything is prepared: a virgin canvas, various brushes, and a paint box like the ones we know from school. Only harsh black and bright white are missing here.
Bergamot (will perfumers have eradicated it one day?), violet leaf, and ripe, juicy peach aroma form an already delightful base: tastefully blended and applied with broad, soft brush strokes.
On this base, in lively lines and in the delicate colors of lilac, white, and pink, generous strokes of lily of the valley and roses are painted, finely entwined by fragrant sweet peas with their movable light green climbing tendrils.
These fragrance nuances flow harmoniously and lightly into one another. They quietly and kindly greet the first summer days: the sun, the butterflies, and the song of many birds; they wave to the white clouds in the bright, wide sky.
A few creamy white dabs of vanilla here, a few drops of sandalwood oil there, and over everything, like with a light powder puff, musk is sprinkled.
"Pois de Senteur" is ready!
Not spectacular, not luxurious: no, simple summer joy has been bottled in this flacon!
Of course, the sillage and longevity are not great. But, I ask you:
Early summer is a fleeting scent being that flutters around us, like butterflies, and laughs joyfully!
If we want to catch it, we have to spray it from time to time. Well, and ...
Outside, November is spreading out: "Pois de Senteur" quietly spreads fragrant joy, light, and hope.
Spring will come again!
All life will begin anew: just wait for it!
That is the catchy message of "Pois de Senteur"!
