A bad joke

A silky oriental, realized in a completely different way
In Fleur de Desert, I have finally found a very chic oriental fragrance that is easy to wear.
What some on forums criticize, but for me are a big plus. Firstly, Fleur de Desert is undoubtedly very special, very chic, evening and elegant BUT it is neither too dense nor too tiringly opulent for me. Fortunately, it also doesn't smell too maturely classic and doesn't wear its age.

It is an aromatic, interesting, diffuse, silky fragrance for the evening that smells wonderful now in summer! In the heat, the oud note becomes fresher and the spicy wood notes smoother.

Secondly, I have to say that I fell in love with the combination of notes that I haven't smelled like this in the last 15 years.
First and foremost, it is a floral fragrance with rose, jasmine and orange blossom. The creamy, fresh floral ensemble is supported by wood and ambergris. The icing on the cake, the cherry on the cream cake, the non plus ultra for me is the dark honey with a pinch of cinnamon (and Moroccan lemon salt?). It smells fantastic but not ordinary.
If you're expecting something sticky and sweet at this point, you might be disappointed. I'm not a fan of sticky sweet fragrances myself, and the artificial sweetness quickly becomes too much for me, I'm really sensitive and immediately averse to them. In this respect, Fleur de Desert is also a very harmonious, rounded fragrance that is not overdone.
The sweetness is moderate and is mainly based on the amber accord, so it is woody and resinous. This is what a freshly brewed sweetened espresso with coffee grounds, cardamom, cinnamon and honey might smell like (to compare the degree of sweetness).

It wears so delicately, so silky light but not unobtrusive! I like these kinds of fragrances that manage this balancing act. This also justifies the price of the fragrance in my eyes; for once, I feel like I'm paying less for Brand Vuitton than for the actual contents of the bottle. You can smell every penny invested here, and that's how it should be.

Longevity is insanely good, I can smell it clearly for at least up to 10-15 hours, the sillage is also very good, it radiated very well yesterday and was well noticed.

My conclusion:
- Fleur de Desert is a sumptuous, modern, sensual floral tale that realizes the oud theme very accurately and moderately. Can be worn for any evening occasion, especially in the warmer months.

- Fleur de Desert could very well appeal to stylish women from southern Arab and eastern cultures, as it exudes a special, understated sensuality. A sensuality for a very small circle of loved and trusted people, not for everyone. A sensuality without shouting and fuss, without applied sex appeal.

- If, like me, you don't want to or can't wear oud and opulent rose fragrances, other notes (jasmine blossom, honey and cinnamon) will serve you very well, but they create an equally chic, elegant, festive aura around the wearer.

Speaking of the wearer, I honestly have to say that I like the fragrance much better on women. Which is not to say that it wouldn't also suit a man, but certainly not the Nordic European type. There are certainly better fragrances to be found! Fortunately, the selection of perfumes leaves no gaps and everyone can find a fragrance for themselves.

- The technical properties such as durability and concentration are the basis for the fact that the purchase of the bottle is also financially worthwhile, such a bottle is extremely productive and, in my opinion, lasts a lifetime

So much from my side, please write in the comments if you know the fragrance and how it affects you!
Have a lovely rest of the week and enjoy the weather!

Quite good after washing up.
... much too strenuous before that.

Fleur du Desert - the latest fragrance in the oriental Louis Vuitton collection, with a surprisingly acceptable price by LV standards, it obviously divides opinion. For some it's the best LV, for others the worst.

Louis Vuitton has so far been surprisingly convincing. As someone who neither finds the brand appealing nor likes mass-produced fragrances without much character, you would think that the brand is not for me at all, and yet it convinces me time and time again. A well-made, fresh and cheerful Imagination in the morning simply works, and Ombre Nomade, even if it has become a little tiring, has established this type of oud in the European market, and it doesn't stop there. The brand is surprisingly bold. The Nouveau Monde, or Cactus Garden, is pretty far from mass market. These fragrances tend to fly under the radar, have exciting compositions and are in an acceptable price segment. With Pur Oud, Louis Vuitton has even dared to create a real, incredibly polarizing oud fragrance, and Myriad is also in the same league. So what about the Fleur du Desert?

Starting in the boutique in search of Pacific Chill, I first sprayed Fleur du Desert onto a strip of paper and was immediately impressed. Powdery, floral, at the same time oriental, woody, warm. Beautiful and special. Quite different from the rest of the oriental collection, but at the same time pleasant to smell. The enthusiasm was immediately noticeable. After the opening, however, the powder came through more and more, together with the floral notes, and became a little more tiring. Enthusiasm turned into disillusionment - "Why is it developing like this?" Well, no big deal, that's not what I was here for after all. Nevertheless, I did get to see a sample.

At home, I tested it again - this time directly on the skin, it's supposed to be better and it was actually pretty. Slain straight away. Powder through and through, floral too. As a big jasmine fan, I was disillusioned - there's not much jasmine here, it's probably the orange blossom that I don't really like. Chemical, synthetic, scratchy, loud, exhausting were the associations here. Wood, oud, warmth, something balancing? Not a chance. It was downright dry on the nose, even though this was supposed to be my pleasant, oriental "Scent of the Night". Well, that was probably nothing, it's not developing much either, off to bed, it'll be gone tomorrow. But no - I can't, it has to be washed off, even though I never actually have to do that. It's just too exhausting. The next day, a pleasant scent in bed. Smelling it on my hand - it's great! Light, pleasant, balanced. The powder fades, the jasmine remains. The orange blossom is perceptible, but less tiring. I still don't smell any oud here. If this fragrance were exactly the same from start to finish, it would certainly be one of my favorites from the house. However, I find washing off a 300+ euro fragrance every time before I can wear it a little... strange. A great pity.

Despite the bad experience, there are points here for the bottle, because it's really great, and the price is not cheap for Louis Vuitton, but it's okay. Longevity and sillage are enormous, and this one is competition for the Ombre Nomade. The other two oriental LVs are much weaker and more restrained, but this one literally screams through the streets. If you are looking for performance, you will get it here, headaches are pre-programmed with over 5 sprays. For me, this is an incredibly exhausting, loud, annoying and unbalanced fragrance that could be so beautiful if it had just been toned down a little. Unfortunately, that's not really what Louis Vuitton and its customers want and the result is a fragrance that could be described as the nemesis of public transportation users.

Pleasantly light oriental
If Fleur du Désert is supposed to be an oriental fragrance, then more of it.
An incredibly delicate and deliberately understated fragrance.

It starts floral and very pleasantly delicate and powdery. Like a veil that covers the body. Yet powerful and you are noticed. Not in a subtle "in your fa..." way Way, no, quite carefully.... you turn around and ask yourself was that you?

The subtle honey note remains in the background. Very light oud, orange blossom and cinnamon make an appearance. Not too spicy, not too dark and yet the nuances are distributed.

A very balanced fragrance for women and men.

Longevity and sillage are also good.

Blew me away
Fleur du Désert is soooo sexy!!!
A fragrance that hit me and immediately smashed me to the floor!
So sweet and oriental. Honey makes me melt away in combination with jasmine.....
Oud is used so minimally that you almost don't notice it at all.
It has a slight note that also reminds me of mouthwash, but that doesn't detract from the fragrance.
This fragrance is made for sexy evenings and will wrap many a man around its finger.
Let yourself be wrapped around your finger and feel how wicked fragrances can be!

A highly medicinal or Robitussin-like fragrance, not very oud forward as much as it is honey forward with its sweetness.

Honey nectar flower opening that dries down into more oud over time that lingers for at least a day. I wish it had a more gourmand base.
