I didn't expect that...
Warning: The fragrance is not suitable for blind buying, and a trial is required before purchasing. The fragrance is purely masculine and begins with a powerful anise top note. If you are not a fan of the anise note, stay away from this fragrance.

The anise note lasts for about an hour, noticeably dominating the rest of the aromatic notes, then the fragrance calms down and enters a new, more enjoyable and deeper stage consisting of Calone notes (a synthetic note composed to reproduce the light, airy, and aqueous feel of watermelon/melon) and juniper berry, but here in the form of a crisp, unripe green fruit. The rest of the notes mentioned in the fragrance description are barely noticeable.

Purity and quality: The fragrance contains ingredients that are very pure and of very high quality.

The performance of the perfume is above average, and it can last for several continuous hours noticeably.
* Longevity: for more than 8 hours
* Sillage: at least for 3 hours noticeably

The world-famous perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin, the fragrance maker, does not have a middle point in his perfume creation. Either the fragrance is a huge success, such as Wanted Azzaro, Patchouli Mania Essential Parfums, and Armani Prive Vert Malachite Giorgio Armani, or the fragrance falls and does not receive enough attention from fragrance lovers, such as Robinson Bear Atkinsons.

Atkinsons is known for creating luxury niche fragrances. James Atkinson opened his soap and perfume shop in London in 1799. He became the personal perfumer to the British royal family in 1826.

The packaging has a regal feel and is among the finest I've seen in the niche perfume world. The fragrance bottle is extremely luxurious, with a luxurious metal cap that references the prestige of the luxury Atkinsons perfume house.

The fragrance retails for $190 for a 100ml bottle on the official Atkinsons Luxury Perfumes website.

Conclusion: The fragrance is not aquatic or fresh, but it is a strange, volatile, and uncomplicated fragrance, but it is not suitable for everyone.

Robinson Bear - The Bear with first spring shower
Robinson Bear is a very magical watery-anise calone smell. It has that retro element with very modern touch. It's like a green AdG with the best possible vibe in that. It's not like a watermelon, the anise and the juniper makes very pleasent aroma. It smells like a strong mountain river, almost ice cold with storytelling greenery during the kid spring.

For me the scent almost don't change in different stages from opening to deep drydown. Maybe only the calone note starts to take the main stage and anise-jupier goes to the background.

On me the sillage is very good. Like 8.5/10 almost all day.
Projection is pretty good. I don't get noseblind to it and can feel it 12+ hours easily. 10/10
Longevity is really great. 12+ hours on skin and several days on clothes. 10/10

Robinson Bear makes a statement and it's rememberable scent in a close to aquatic genre.

Whether in rainy Cambridge...
... with a tea and dressed in tweed or at a bar on the beach in Mykonos with a gin and tonic; Atkinsons' Robinson Bear provides the perfect nasal foundation for the moment.
Because as both mentioned situations might require, it can be both seriously cold and pleasantly refreshing.
My first association is always an ice-cold gin and tonic.
It embodies the serious chill of a gin and tonic, nothing here brings warm, cozy, or even fruity accents that a cocktail might have. No, the gin and tonic remains as it is; cold, serious, and surely not to everyone's taste.
Robinson Bear holds to the same principle. With its ingredient DNA (juniper berry, oak moss, star anise) there are no big surprises.
But that’s exactly what Robinson Bear is - no surprise if you expect the often-mentioned cold drink.

Wanderlust and Sea
Do you crave adventure and travel? Then "Robinson Bear" is the perfume for the man who can no longer stand working from home. The scent from Atkinson (Britain's oldest perfumery) is a tribute to Daniel Defoe's novel "Robinson Crusoe." It is not surprising that "Robinson Bear" is a fresh fragrance that plays with the aromas of Mediterranean coastal plants. "Robinson Bear" is the perfume for men who are tormented by wanderlust.

Algae green musk mist with a splash too much cucumber-fruity Calone. Fennel as a placeholder for coastal herbs. Cooling juniper.

Fragrant vegetation of a dry heath landscape with an aromatic-spicy sea breeze. Herb-sweet, herbal, a bit bitter.

Indeed a lighter version of Acqua di Sale. In that sense, probably also "love or hate". Spring, autumn.

Fresh green scent. Minty oak moss with juniper.
Unisex fragrance. Smells quite good.
Reminds me of the mineral freshness of Salaria.

Sandy breeze over scruffy coastal greenery. Not too wild, not too tame. It lacks a bit of body and aura, but it has many sympathy points from me.

Smells exactly like a Hawaiian Tropic aftersun cream at the opening. After 5 minutes, the star anise overwhelms everything that could be nice underneath.
