Secret powdery and loud soul
On the website, this scent gets described as something woody and spicy. Paired with the listed notes, I expected a somewhat spicy or nutty orange blossom in the opening that develops into a warm woody smoky cedar with your typical amber musc base, but for I was in for a surprise.
I cannot pinpoint the exact accord, but right in the beginning it was a powdery and almost cloying sweety iris which developed into a more tolerable mix of powdery sweet floral. I cannot exactly smell any woody fragrances or orange blossom, since the sweetness is overwhelming almost any other aspect of this fragrance.
While Birkholz has a lot of different fragrances, some of which I really and I am far from finished from testing them, this is not for me. The tried popular fragrances from them have a specific signature of sweetness. In some it is more in the background, like Berlin Soul, in other it is so overwhelming I question why others like it (Royal Amber) and others accomplish to make it strong but also balance it with a certain aromatic spicyness (Roads of Rome).
I think it can be very nice for a certain audience and others most likely do not smell the sweetness so strong like I do, or they just like it. I am someone that tends to wear more balanced or quiet fragrances; this one is overwhelming with its powdery floral sweetness. Someone stated that it smells "like Berlin Soul but feminine" and I have to agree. It has the same soul (haha) than Berlin Soul but less nutty boozyness and more powdery floral iris and more intense in its sweetness.
Summarized: If you like most Birkholz fragrances, you will like this one.
