Beautiful gourmand - nutty, sweet, bready
Masque Milano Madeleine is a 2020 release that I just had the pleasure of smelling for the first time last week with Nir Guy at Perfumology, which carries the full Masque line. The name of the perfume conjures the cake of the same name, and I believe is the perfume’s inspiration, as almond features significantly in both. The perfume does have a baked goods quality to it along the lines of Hilde Soliani Buonissimo, but instead of smelling like buttery, cocoa-dusted croissants, Madeleine has a prominent nutty quality of almond, chestnut, and coffee in concert with a cookie/cake vibe, without the lemon of the inspiration and without the cocoa of Buonissimo. It’s slightly sharp (probably due to the combination of almond and tonka) but in general sweeter and breadier with light spicy touches.

Madeleine is dense, rich, delicious, and a very satisfying nod to gourmand lovers like me, and is different enough from other perfumes I’ve tried to be worth looking into and (if you’re as much as a fan of it as I am) buying a bottle. Overall, I’m quite smitten with this.

Madeleine is sold at Perfumology and other boutiques like Indigo Perfumery and Luckyscent and is priced at $160 for 35ml, on par with most of the line.

Cozy roasted chestnut gourmand
This is one of my favorites for curling up at home, and it's perfect tonight while heavy rain, thunder and lightning rage outside.
It's a unique gourmand, not particularly sweet.
Roasted chestnuts, milky vanilla and tonka with a buttery phase, then midway a delicate tuberose enters the mix. Eventually dries down to a most impeccable amber. Longevity is superb, sillage is rather close. Wearing to bed, I know I'll wake up still able to smell it.
The scent of roasted chestnuts is very nostalgic, reminds me of winter in NYC with my grandfather.
I'm halfway through my travel sized bottle already, kicking myself for not getting full size.
It's a literal bittersweet fragrance.

super nutty, super sweet
extremely nutty, powdery, in an almost dusty way, and very sweet. The chestnut here almostttt reads like a peanut butter sort of accord, as its overtly nutty in an uncanny sort of way. I do find the sweetness a bit overwhelming the heavy hand of powder here. The scent reminds me of Mazapan de la Rosa, a powdered peanut candy funny enough. You do get a milky vanilla with rich tonka in the dry down, that is undeniably enjoyable, with remnants of nutty accords, but I do find the ultra powdery opening and heavy hand of nuttiness a bit much to get to the tamer end result.

You really have to love pastry to go this route.
Madeleine is a ultra-HD realistic gourmand perfume. It smells spot on like buttery, vanilla rich crumbs of madeleine or financier cookies. It's so real, you'll keep checking yourself to make sure your clothes haven't been soiled by sweet, buttery dessert remains from the still warm cookie on your plate. Madeleine is truly an olfactory impersonator: you're not wearing to experience its evolution and to exclaim "Oh, here is the tuberose! Ahhh, now the geranium came on the scene!" No, no! Fanny Bal wants to serve you with some sweets and a glass full of milk. A polite and attentive hostess, in the meantime she realizes that maybe you're still craving for more, so she brings you an whipped-cream and chestnut rich Mont Blanc.

It's not my cup of tea, but if you like sweet, realistic gourmand perfumes, you should try this. Its silage and longevity are impressive.

A modern gourmand
Medeleine is made in the absolute tradition of the modern gourmand genre - it contains a lot of the most delicious things: caramel, cream, praline, nuts, vanilla. Do you want more? Then, there is also added a prominent honey-floral nuance, which is the main accord in their newest fragrance called Ray-Flection.

If you are familiar with Trastevere by Pantheon Roma, for me Madeleine is Trastevere minus chocolate and plus Ray-Flection's floral honey. And this comparison is not a criticism at all, I do like the perfume - it is beautiful, optimistic and perfect for winter holidays.

OMG, a heavenly nutty, distinctly creamy, but particularly elegantly made non edible gourmand w/ roasted Chestnut. Excellent base. In love.

Some florals in the top, mainly structured as a sweet-nutty-creamy gourmand scent, adjacent to SL's Jeux de Peau & Caron's Comme je Suis.

They don’t really smell alike, but this and Blanche Bete are both kind of “fluffy white sweet scents with an edge”-I love them both

A nut-chestnut dessert with a dollop of cream and a strong espresso. The walnut note dominates. Savory-spicy-nutty-sweet

Very potent nut-honey with a tiny hint of freshness, overall a truly wonderful gourmand of its kind. Price is silly!

So delicious, I just asked my wrist if I could take a bite. Roasted chestnuts in vanilla cream, plus coffee, mmmh.

Intense nougat at the start, gradually blended with tuberose. Two sprays are enough; more than that could lead to nausea ;)

The walnut cake was delicious. Unfortunately, some leftover coffee grounds burned on the coffee machine's hot plate and "bitterness" filled the air in the café.

I only smell roasted chestnuts with unsweetened vanilla powder. Definitely trendy and modern, but it could be more complex.

In the opening, you find yourself in a café. The scent of nutty-bitter pastries and cream fills the air. Subtle coffee notes.
