Floral & subtle fragance
Wisteria a lavander is my favourite fragance from the new LAVENDERLAND collection by jo Malone. It is a floral, musky and powdery subtle fragance based on the lavander, but with a sweeter and for me nicer view of lavander than usually. At the same time It is, however, the fragance of the three with the worst performance. Longevity and projection are quite moderate which makes the fragance a perfume for daily time use during the everyday Life. For me It is also totally unisex. It makes me think of other JMLONDON perfumes like Wild bluebell.

Jo Malone Wisteria and Lavender
Wisteria and Lavender

My first thought when spraying it on my skin. Oh God, Unisex, what am I supposed to do with that? - an unmistakably fresh lavender scent spreads. A bit biting, still sharp, yet unmistakable... but after a few minutes, everything becomes relative.

This is not lavender as you might know it from your grandmother or a men's fragrance. No, it’s a fresh, pure, and natural scent.

I am reminded of a walk on a cool early morning through the lavender fields of southern France. It is still cool. The dew moistens the wood, the flowers, you can feel the earth under your bare feet, the first rays of sunshine are warming up. Somewhere, other flowers are still blooming, trees stretch their branches, between which the wisteria presents its lavish flower clusters. Nature awakens.

Birds are chirping, inside, next to coffee and croissants, the FAZ or Die Zeit are waiting to be read.

I remember the film "A Good Year" with Russell Crowe, London chic, a successful stockbroker, tailored suits and jackets, an old villa, sunshine, the shine of bygone times.

Cool businessman meets the sun-drenched southern France and the memories of his childhood and youth.

The scent becomes more powdery, finer over time, its cool elegance wraps around you like a noble silk shawl.

Wisteria and Lavender is not a scent for the beach or a boisterous girls' night out or barbecue. It is elegant, successful understatement for the executive floor, an expensive club with limited membership, a stylish tea time with champagne in an upscale London restaurant, or a visit to a fine French café with café au lait and macarons.

On the skin, it lasts a good half day; I could still perceive it very well on my summer sweater the next day. A very beautiful and extraordinary scent that will keep its place in my collection.

Lavender in a different way, gentle and fine
A very fine lavender scent, more delicate than loud, aromatic with a slightly sweet lavender - no dusty note, the underlying musk makes it very feminine and clean. I liked it immediately. It is just a cologne and therefore does not last very well or long; it is more like an airy, sun-drenched scent mist that gently falls upon me when sprayed into the air. I close my eyes and find myself in a very large, beautiful lavender field in the province. The sun warms my face and this wonderful, pure smell surrounds me. A perfect companion for a wonderful summer, a gentle embrace for a woman, perhaps a bit more robust on a man? Who knows... give it a try. I wonder what wisteria smells like, I don’t know, but this cologne is refreshment par excellence. It also has something familiar for me.

Noble & Mature...
...this could also be the name of this fragrance.

Today, following the recommendation of the lovely Parfuma GirlofNow, I went in search of a specific scent at the upscale department store Nordstrom in the USA. Dolce Garden by D&G is supposed to smell wonderfully creamy of vanilla, coconut, and flowers, according to her description, and that sounds really good! However, they unfortunately did not have this fragrance at Nordstrom. So, following the recommendation of the friendly salesperson at the Dior counter, I tested various scents: Mon Paris by YSL, Rose Prick and Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford, and the limited Lavender line by Jo Malone. In the end, I was particularly taken with Wisteria & Lavender and Soleil Blanc, so I took home samples of both fragrances for extensive testing, and at this moment I am sitting at my desk with Wisteria & Lavender on my arm.

At the start, the fragrance clearly smells of lavender, but not the kind of men’s aftershave, rather more like Provence! A beautiful, unsweetened, and slightly bitter lavender note that transports you to sunny Southern France. I only know such a lavender note from L'Occitane. After a few minutes, the fragrance settles and becomes even rounder and finer. There are definitely floral notes present, but even here they are very unsweetened, so the perfume reminds me of my beloved Chanel No. 19 in terms of its aura. I do not mean that the scents are similar, but the attitude, the aura is very similar: mature and noble. In the base, the fragrance is beautifully softened by unsweetened musk. I find this scent rounded, soft, bright, clean, and harmonious. It has something of a successful CEO, while remaining stylish and discreet. By the way, the CEO can be female or male! This fragrance requires a formal appearance as its backdrop. Jeans and a t-shirt do not suit it at all; rather, a white shirt and stylish leather shoes. It is not for very young women, but can definitely be worn from mid-20s onward (in my opinion). The sillage is moderate, and I cannot comment on the longevity yet. I find this fragrance very successful and am considering whether I should buy it. Since I am also very taken with Soleil Blanc, the decision is not so easy.

I am excited to be the first to comment on this fragrance and am very curious about the opinions of you other Parfumas and Parfumos regarding this scent! A warm greeting from the USA!

A delicate, very floral lavender scent with a hint of freshness. An impressionistic brushstroke in soft lilac with bright spring green.

This is the scent of delicate PURPLE. Blooming lavender fields in Provence, wisteria climbing a wall. Fresh, not sweet + cool, yet noble + elegant.

Lavender, unsweet floral notes, and unsweet musk. Elegant & mature. Subtle & stylish. Reminds me of a successful CEO. I like it!

Unfortunately, I only smell a floral medley, old-school and slightly wilted... I can't detect any lavender, what a pity... can go.

Floral, rather delicate mix, lavender only hinted at, more flowers. A bit too boring for me, mainstream.
