Juicy, fruity, floral, but something synthetic too
I had gotten a free sample of Elle Anniversary at my local boutique. While never having smiled the original Elle for comparison, I get a bit of an understanding of what the Elle DNA is about: florals and soft fruits. However, comparing the notes between the two fragrances, I notice that the Anniversary is much more fruit-heavy than the flor-iginal.

I get a blast of synthetic lychee and licorice at the start, along with some bubbly bergamot. A slight sort of saltiness starts after five minutes, which builds slowly and tickles my nostrils.

A nice fruity, floral scent that has a strange synthetic quality that doesn't rest with me well.
Beautiful bottle but absurd pricing. This fragrance does not last or project much. Two or three hours of fairly strong projection and it completely disappears by the seventh or eighth hour.

I had given my sample away to my neighbor (she's a peony and licorice fan) and she loves it.

I Surrender
For weeks, I had tried to push my bottle into the farthest corner of the cupboard and thus forget about it. No, not because the scent isn’t beautiful, quite the opposite, but because of the price, of course. Which is downright outrageous.

But now I surrender and raise the white flag. I don’t know what’s in there, but it’s not just a fruity floral, believe me.

Is it the base that smells so incredibly good? The accent with the licorice? This powdered fresh peony? I DON’T KNOW

But I would love to have the bottle, not even because of the bottle itself. The scent is for me the collection of:

-these delicious biteable notes from Kayali but without toothaches and hardly any synthetics

-a fresh berry mix (thankfully without raspberry)

-cashmere wood with an amber base like Amouage Guidance but airier

-EX Nihilo's dewy fresh peonies like Lust in Paradise

-LV Attrape Reve but with less pronounced patchouli, less earthy, less herbal, and less woody

Wow, it’s a true girl’s happiness perfume in high quality and elegance. A dream of a scent! I need you.
And aren’t we still girls at 35?!

Thus, my inner self is officially satisfied and complete with feminine, cheerful feel-good scents and gourmands (this one is gourmand enough for me, although I think it won’t be really sweet for many) as well as floral powdery fragrances.

With ELLE Aniv., everyone smells like a girl of any age who knows no worries in the world.

A fragrance for special occasions!
Originally purchased for my girlfriend, I find myself increasingly applying the scent on myself.

The "Elle Anniversary | XerJoff" impresses with its powdery, soft peony scent, framed by a variation of fruits.

At first, the fragrance has a very strong sillage, which, however, diminishes after a few hours, and the scent can only be perceived at shorter distances. For me, this is not a problem but rather a positive trait. This subtle fragrance remains very pleasant to experience for several hours.

This makes the "Elle Anniversary | XerJoff" in my eyes a perfect fragrance for special moments in summer, as well as spring, autumn, and winter.

The bottle is a real eye-catcher from the gemstone collection. Adorned with small flakes of gold leaf, it is one of my top 3 favorite bottles from Xerjoff and is truly a gem on the perfume shelf.

Even though the fragrance is marketed as a women's perfume, I can only encourage any man who is not averse to floral scents to give it a try!

Great summery scent…
The fragrance was a birthday gift. We were in a Xerjoff store in Milan and I smelled it there and immediately chose it as my birthday gift…hihi.

Is the scent good? Yes! Is it worth the price? No!

It is a young, fresh, berry-floral fragrance. It fits perfectly for summer. The bottle looks great.

Unfortunately, the longevity is only semi-good. I can perceive it subtly, but I definitely expect more from a Xerjoff, especially in that price segment….more longevity….more sillage….!!!!! That disappoints me. Of course, a strong summer scent might be too much and would knock you out. But for a summer evening, it could definitely project more.

Sure, I will wear it. I feel sorry for the buyer who gifted me the scent….I could have chosen another, more affordable Xerjoff that would have definitely been more convincing. That would have been better for the wallet. There’s plenty of selection available. But I don’t want to speak too badly of it, because it is good after all, that berry floral little bottle ️

A fresh-floral, yet fruity drop - unfortunately only in terms of price - exclusivity!
Even though this is a fragrance that is definitely feminine, I really wanted to test "Elle Anniversary | XerJoff," especially since "Homme Anniversary | XerJoff" didn't completely convince me. Anyone who knows a bit about Xerjoff knows that "Homme | XerJoff" and "Elle | XerJoff" were among the first fragrances from the house; thus, a core renovation was necessary, or maybe not...?

Well, I won't answer that question again. BUT much more interesting, how does the fragrance smell?

- The top note unfolds effectively like a fruity-sparkling firework; the splash of bergamot, a sweet, juicy hint of apple and red fruits, and a lovely lychee that brings this exotic sweetness. Really beautiful and on the verge of being "squeaky"; it was really close to drifting into "cheap sweetness," but Xerjoff managed to steer it back. Thus, the opening smells really beautifully fruity-fresh. Then comes a phase of floral elegance from jasmine and peony, light and "watery," and eventually also creamy through the cashmere wood. The licorice note is subtly spicy in the background, pleasantly perceptible.

- In the drydown, the fragrance then transitions into a velvety phase of ambered musk and a slightly creamy-earthy base, where the earthy aspect is really extremely diminished; it is more creamy, lightly sweetened with amber, and "fluffy." The fragrance lingers on this base. Over time, the fragrance in the drydown somehow loses substance, and I must say after a few hours it becomes a bit disappointingly boring.

- Longevity and projection are definitely average, nothing outstanding and not typical of Xerjoff, unfortunately. Perhaps this was done intentionally, since it is a fruity-fresh-floral fragrance that is meant to be worn more in summer, which it actually does quite well.

Now to summarize: From my perspective, you do not get a fragrance worth 400 euros. Yes, the bottle is beautiful, and the fragrance does not smell repulsive, but it is also not groundbreaking, if you are completely honest with yourself. The DNA is definitely not something I would personally remember much, or I would rather associate it with something cheaper... and yes, as pure decoration, I could furnish half an apartment with decorative items from Ikea for that money.

Synthetic opening (to me). More fruit-forward notes than the flor-iginal Elle. Lovely calm scent, but much weaker than expected.

Trying to be “Better than your skin musk” w/ shy fruits + florals but too many poor synthetic notes. No Amber, no Patchouli, very juvenile.

Girls think carefully before buying this perfume, the perfume smells nice but literally doesn't last even two hours and costs over 400 euros

Opens sweet-creamy fruitchouli like the original Elle, on-skin it's less floral/chypre. Has a small performance upgrade and that's about it.

Joyful and young leaning scent. It somehow has elegant vibes. Clear, fruity, musky. Low projection. Nice to have but.. worth the price?

Smells like a lot of what’s on the market right now. Floral-fruity without a unique feature. Artificially fruity, somewhat floral.

Sweet red fruits with zesty bergamot bubbles,
bathed in a musky comfort bath.
Floral, woody, beautiful.

Fruity-powdery scent that only differs from mainstream in price. Longevity is really poor. Feels very familiar to me.
