Poetique La Rive 2024

rose and lime combined to smell like a red, acidic plum. its very sharp and tart. i wouldn't overspray as this seems like a fragrance that could cause headaches in some. I'm not a big fan of Delina but I don't hate her. the sour juicy rose in this, however, does remind me of the one in Atomic Rose by Initio, and I enjoy that tremendously. I'm not saying this is a dupe for AR (its not), but that is what makes me like this.
i don't recall Delina being this harsh on the nose.

Poetique opens alcoholic, and then becomes this cheerful rose fragrance with a fruity touch by the lychee. It dries down somewhat sweet, soapy and musky, though the brightness still peeks through. To me this is a perfect simple post-shower scent. It smells clean and happy without being boring.
It does take about 30 seconds for the alcohol to fully evaporate, which is not very pleasant.

Delina in the opening is immediately more layered, it plays with mildly sharp aspects (probably the rhubarb which is stronger there) and is a rose with a thorns, some interest. The lychee there lifts the musk and keeps it much more afloat and fresh. It lifts off the skin and is therefore the brighter and slightly more complex of the two, but only by a hair or two in my opinion. The longevity and sillage of Delina are of course also better (which honestly would be embarrassing if that wasn't the case).

Delina to me is milder in the drydown and therefor a little more sophisticated. The musky soap that I get in Poetique is distinctly more powdery in Delina.

So the differences to me are very slight, yet perceptible. I don't get frankincense or nutmeg in either, but that might be an untrained nose or just weird skin chemistry. Everything that makes Delina good (except for the sharp rhubarb opening, sadly) is present in Poetique.

Tested in store and liked it - tart lychee, rhubarb, rose, projected a lot, had sillage, lasted on a paper strip for 2 days filling a room with a noticable scent. So i decided to buy it and it opens harsh, screechy, chemical, alcoholic, really unpleasant, smells nothing like tester in the store. Though i've tried testers in 3 different stores and only one smelled good, i don't know what it is.

I must mention right away that I am a Delina Girl through and through. I have all three versions, for every occasion, every season, and every weather. I love Delina La Rosée the most.
Out of boredom, I tested this fragrance in the drugstore to shorten my wait time at the checkout.

The first spray - puhhhhhh - and immediately back on the shelf. The price confirmed the first impression - it's nothing.
I must honestly mention at this point that I have not been able to connect with La Rive so far.

However, since I wanted to test this fragrance consciously, I gave it a chance and tried it.

After about 30 minutes with body heat, it slowly develops.

At this point, I must say - the Delina DNA is clearly recognizable!
But less complex, less strong, and a bit prickly in the nose. One note bothers me extremely, which must be the artificial rhubarb and lychee note. Quite scratchy.

After another 1-2 hours, the fragrance finally starts to excite me.
It has become relatively weak, and thus the scratchy note has completely disappeared.

After 3 hours, it is quite creamy, and very beautiful and delicate. But definitely close to the skin.

What remains is a lukewarm water that possesses the Delina DNA, leaning towards "Delina La Rosée | Parfums de Marly."
Quite simple and lacking depth.

BUT, overall, this does not mean that the fragrance is bad.

For 7 euros, the fragrance is really okay, and you can't go wrong with it. I actually find it quite nice.

Of course, it lacks the complexity and the high quality, but if you can live with that - go for it!

I have tested several Delina dupes, and this one was the nicest.

Addition as of April 2025:
For me, Elixir Floral is the best super from the drugstore and better than La Rive!

First of all, I have to come clean and admit that I don't know the original scent that this is supposed to be a dupe of. Unfortunately, the perfumeries I visit don't carry expensive niche fragrances. But should I ever have the honor of testing Delina, I would be more than happy to do so.

I needed two attempts with this perfume. Curious about what a cheap drugstore fragrance that claims to smell like a €160 perfume could be like, I sprayed it on a test strip. That immediately went in the trash. After having sniffed several perfumes, this one just seemed "too much" to me, sour, exhausting.

Still, I couldn't shake off the hype around Delina (I spend a lot of time on TikTok, and I often see that chic pink bottle). So, I wanted to give the dupe another chance. I went back to the drugstore, this time purposefully heading to the La Rive fragrances. I grabbed the pink bottle and boldly sprayed it several times on my arms. Then I went about my errands.
In the meantime, I caught myself repeatedly sniffing my arms.

Even at home, it didn't stop; I had to keep sniffing. The next day, I put on my sweater and wondered what smelled so wonderful. Then I remembered: I had sprayed myself with Poetique. And I was in love.

Now, about the scent:
You really have to test it on your skin. On my skin, the initially sour note quickly disappeared, leaving something delicate, lovely, and sugary sweet.
The scent is truly extremely girly, like a bouquet of roses. It reminds me of fairy tale castles and ballerinas (and I danced ballet myself for 15 years).
Yes, for most, it may seem terribly sugary and kitschy, the pink ball gown, the fairy tale prince on the white horse. An illusion. But sometimes we women need exactly that to feel like a princess.
At least for a few hours.
