Expectation meets spicy reality (Venom Incarnate Dupe)
Blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, these scents alone aroused my curiosity.
Without knowing the original, Venom Incarnat, I was expecting a sweet, playful berry fragrance.
What awaited me, however, was something completely different.
Even the opening is a surprise: a strong, spicy and sweet accord of cinnamon and cedarwood dominates.
The fruity notes are present, but they remain in the background and support the darker, more dominant notes.
The fragrance is anything but fruity and playful; instead, it is subtly dark and mature.
This impression continues in the drydown.
Cinnamon and cedarwood continue to dominate the picture, although the cedarwood does not have the usual masculine, intense note here, but rather blends gently and harmoniously into the cinnamon aroma.
The berry notes only gradually come to the fore over time.
For me personally, it feels like it takes a whole hour before I really notice them clearly, even if others notice them sooner and more intensely in my experience.
Nevertheless, the spicy character remains dominant until the end.
The leather is so delicate that you can barely smell it.
The same applies to the caramel, which is only responsible for the sweetness and is otherwise not prominent.
The performance is nice.
Two sprays are enough to create a strong sillage.
Lasts from today until the next wash, really impressive.
In my opinion, the fragrance is perfectly unisex and can be worn by everyone without any gender preference being apparent (W50%/50%M).
Conclusion: Although the fragrance does not meet my personal taste, it is still an interesting fragrance with a niche character.
It will appeal to many who like it spicy, sweet and unique.
I have never smelled anything like it before and am delighted to have discovered something completely new.
