Mood changing jewel
As soon as I acquired this fragrance and I sprayed it on my skin (it was a blind buy, because I already own and love The One for Men Eau de Parfum , so a clone of The One Luminous Night could not hurt my senses too much), and a ruthless blast of heavy incense overwhelmed my nose to the point I instantly put it back into its packaging and decided to resell it.
But, deep down, the fragrance was telling me much more than just an initial blast of heavy incense, so I decided to let it sit for some time and see if its tantrum went away.
After 1 month, not only the tantrum went away, but also this fragrance greeted me so gently I decided to make it one of my mains in my rotation.
Even if the incense is perceived by my brain in a very subtle and tamed way (even as an almost imaginary hint if that makes sense), it is still present rounding and guarding this scent.
I cannot get much of the bergamot, but I do get the basil and pepper at the top, mixing with a delicious sweet date note (it is not at all overly sweet, as I am able to compare it with fragrances where the contrary is true like Le Mâle Elixir or Ambassador for Men , 2 fragrances that I have big love for).
The same or reminiscent ambery / sandalwood final touches and scent holders that happen in The One for Men Eau de Parfum also happen here, but this time in a way that goes more in the direction of creaminess in Lumière Garçon instead of the orange leaf slightly aromatic / slightly fruity personality (even if it's not a protagonist) of The One for Men Eau de Parfum , making them differ also, and redirecting this bit of airiness of the final smell in the air of The One for Men Eau de Parfum , where the ambery drydown takes its way progressively, into a more robust and creamy finish in Lumière Garçon due to the dates mainly.
In general I am extremely happy with this purchase, and will definitely refill when I run out of this beautiful, inviting, warm, sweet (not at all overly), alluring fragrance.
I have not smelled The One Luminous Night
I own The One for Men Eau de Parfum for comparison
I also own Lumière Garçon
