I feel dirty
Once again a blind buy, once again a bad purchase. After all, only 30 ml, which can now be used as a room fragrance, but actually the oh-so-clean man himself is too unpleasant for that.
I've heard so many positive things about the Clean brand that I really wanted to give the fragrances a chance - and because I simply love the clean scent of fresh laundry. But Clean mainly has women's fragrances on offer, and a few unisex ones. Clean for Men Classic is one of the very few men's fragrances and a bottle was just available very cheaply on eBay, so: why not?
Well, Clean for Men Classic is "fresh". But not like fresh laundry, and not reminiscent of cleaning and textiles in any other way, but rather aquatic-green in a very cheap way, strangely tart and first and foremost incredibly synthetic. It is precisely this synthetic quality that is so unpleasant that I sometimes find it almost repulsive. So it's no wonder that the entire men's line has been discontinued, it's a horror.
If I want to draw comparisons, the fragrance has something of those unscented cleaning products that are more for industrial use. Basically, the fragrance has very chemical notes, so even the synthetics smell like the raw materials industry and don't even try to smell nice.
All this disgust makes me not feel "clean" - quite the opposite.
At least you can say that the almost depressingly sterile bottle fits in well with its mediocre to rather cheap finish.
The performance is okay for a fragrance from the freshness shelf: 2½ hours of solid sillage, then the projection decreases, the fragrance lasts a total of 6 hours. The price is reasonably acceptable.
I cannot recommend this fragrance. Not for everyday wear or leisure, for which it might be most suitable due to its fragrance, not for anything else.
I don't know why I let myself get carried away again by blindly buying a fragrance. It's almost always gone wrong in the past and it's gone wrong again this time.
