Althaïr Parfums de Marly 2023

PDM Althair neueste Veröffentlichung, die im August/September 2024 weltweit erwartet wird. Ich habe es aus einer Flasche vor der Veröffentlichung getestet. Erstaunlicher Duft und ich liebe ihn. Beast mode performance. Es ist eine Mischung aus Kalan und Pegasus mit etwas cremigem Vanila und Oud mit einem Hauch von Gewürzen - das ist es, was ich davon habe. Es ist super glatt mit pdm dna. Ich gebe diesem Duft eine 9/10 und wird meine Nummer 1 unter den pdm Düften sein.

Die Leute haben Rezensionen geschrieben und ihn bewertet, ohne ihn überhaupt zu testen, das ist einfach schlecht für die Duftliebhaber. Traurig

Althaïr by Parfums de Marly is a soft, comforting fragrance. Vanilla, of course, is the main star here but the other player is a woods and musk accord that is reminiscent of fresh laundry.

Opening with a good amount of citrus in the form of bergamot, Althaïr gives me a bit of Ani Extrait de Parfum vibes when it is first sprayed. Citrus, some spices and florals to round it out, with the vanilla in the background. However, that’s where the similarities end with the Nishane fragrance. While Ani heads deeper into the gourmand space, Althaïr introduces the aforementioned woods and musk accord, listed as guaiac wood, musk, and ambroxan in the note pyramid. I am reminded of Creed Original Santal or Montblanc Individuel Eau de Toilette but without the eponymous sandalwood. Instead the creaminess is provided by vanilla and the floral notes, listed as orange blossom. The vanilla itself is described as "bourbon" vanilla and it does give some boozy or tobacco tones. Although vanilla is the main note, I wouldn't really describe this as a gourmand fragrance per se. For me, the cinnamon and praline are not that prominent, and the scent profile is better described as woody and sweet.

It is a powerful fragrance. Projects well over 5-6 hours and lasts all day on the skin. Overall, really happy with my blind buy! It seems I’m enjoying all of Hamid Merati-Kashani’s creations of late. I even got a sample of Pegasus Exclusif with this purchase that is definitely full bottle worthy!

Safe to say this year there has not been anything as overhyped as Althaïr and TLDR: the underlying product does not justify as much as an ounce of this hype.

The red lights are glaring into your nose as soon as you spray it on. Prominent synthetic tones, the first accords I get are sweet & white floral. But perhaps more importantly, I instantly notice that it's not a masculine fragrance. As the scent dries, those that have experience with Marly's women's catalogue might even find this scent to be leaning feminine.

The notes in terms of their blending & quality remind me of 2 fragrances: Silky Woods and Vanille Leather. The new BDK, ignoring the misleading name, actually smells white floral & dark woody with shreds of vanilla; while the Goldfield & Banks scent that came out in 2021 smells like an intense vanilla with some white floral tones and woody undertones.

I cannot figure out what everyone is smelling to justify this 8.7/10 rating across nearly 400 individual reviews. The core scent is of vanilla ice cream & orange blossom with mild praline, or alternatively, vanilla ice cream & laundry detergent. Blend quality is not great - this could easily be a designer scent and you wouldn't know. Sillage is good at around 7/10 with the longevity appearing to land in the 10-12 hour range based on a handful of wears.

At the end of the year, Althaïr and Lovers will be competing for biggest PR bottle darling within the YT/IG fragrance community with both products being complete jokes.

If you are a man on a date and wear this, you are probably cheating. I can see a woman ready to jump your bones based on this smell alone - a caramel, cinnamon, dessert-like scent that somehow is still decidedly masculine. I think it's the cinnamon that keeps it masculine. For an easy way to think of it, it smells like a gingerbread cookie. I don't like sweet scents, and this is borderline for me. That said, it's one of those I kept smelling on myself over and over it was so good. Not getting it since I just can't pull the trigger on a sweeter scent like this. But it's high-quality, and if I wanted to be devious and was only trying to turn a woman on with no regard for whether I like the scent myself, this would be my top choice. What the The Devil would wear.

Althair is a great winter scent as it feautures notes as praline, cinnamon and vanilla. It lasts pretty good as i get around 8 hours of scent wearing it. Havent met anyone who doesnt like the scent when its on skin and have recieved a good amount of compliments wearing it. Could recommend this to someone who is looking for a great winter scent!
