Just don't mix it with water!
Here I am again, folks (… am I hearing a sigh??)! Today, I’m back with a comment, but I must admit that it’s just an average fragrance. So why am I describing it? Because I have to make my presence known so you don’t FORGET ME!!!
Oh, and of course, to not disappoint all the perfumers who send me scents that I’m supposed to describe :D
Well, I’m not forced to do anything, but this fragrance contains fresh notes, and I just fished it out since I didn’t want to spray on any scents with vanilla, amber, or anything else that might smell nice but could also be a bit overwhelming in this heat…
Anyway, we’re talking about “Magic - Sage Spell” by Viktor & Rolf, which sounds really fantasy-like just from the name…. Sage Spell, as in a spell or enchantment of the wise or something. It could easily come from a fantasy game, Magic cards, or Dungeons & Dragons. And no, I might be a nerd, but I don’t have Magic cards and I don’t play Dungeons & Dragons (but I do have Boss Monster cards, which is something else,… better not look up what that is… *sigh* :DD)
But enough talking, it’s getting hot again, so let’s see if this fragrance can refresh and smell good at the same time!
Fortunately, the anise becomes a bit weaker as it develops. Later, I mostly smell pink pepper with a slight mix of sage and a bit of green tea, along with some patchouli.
Even in the base, you can smell sweet pink pepper with a good portion of anise and patchouli again. The green tea, which was hardly detectable anyway, is unfortunately completely gone, making the scent come off more as a sweet all-rounder rather than truly fresh. The synthetic notes remain present in the base. Unfortunately, this synthetic note becomes quite intrusive after a few hours, in the later base, as you really notice this “scent note” because most of the other fragrance notes have lost much of their strength by then. I don’t like that, and it’s exactly the type of synthetic that makes a fragrance smell rather cheap. What a shame… but this scent really didn’t turn out well, at least in my eyes (or in my nose :D).
As mentioned, the scent is summery, even though it doesn’t really come off as fresh; it should have had less synthetic (especially in the base) and anise, but well. For me, there are much nicer fragrances, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend a test. Not even if you should mix the scent like Raki with water to make it more bearable (you’ve probably seen how some mix Raki with water and the drink then turns milky)… he he he, you really should never mix a fragrance with water, it’s unbelievable that I have to mention this here!!!
And Raki? Yes, mix it with water if you want, but the taste doesn’t get much better, mu ha ha ha ha, ugh, I really don’t like anise! :D
Well then, that’s it from me again, I wish you all a lovely evening, see you later :)

The scent:
The scent starts with a mix of grapefruit and sweet pink pepper, blended with a larger portion of somewhat cheap-looking synthetic notes. After this synthetic note fades (or becomes weaker), I smell green, herbaceous herbs, primarily sage, which is always good in summer fragrances. There’s also anise, which I don’t particularly like, making this a rather acquired scent for me (it reminds me of the Turkish national drink Raki, which I also find quite unusual and don’t really like). Fortunately, the anise becomes a bit weaker as it develops. Later, I mostly smell pink pepper with a slight mix of sage and a bit of green tea, along with some patchouli.

The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is quite okay, not super strong, but also not so weak that you could only smell it up close. The longevity is also quite okay, as the scent lasted about seven or eight hours. The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and tall, tapering inward at the neck. You can see a gold-plated label with the name of the fragrance as well as a gold-plated cap, which still has the Viktor & Rolf logo attached. The golden accents go very well with the green fragrance liquid, so overall, I like the bottle. Conclusion:
So, okay, this scent has turned out to be less magical despite its name. Essentially, it’s a simple summer fragrance with a bit too much synthetic for my taste, but it’s still within an acceptable range (yes, there are worse synthetic scents). For me, the fragrance isn’t particularly great, but it’s not really bad either; it just doesn’t have any special strengths. This makes the scent more of a run-of-the-mill synthetic fragrance, like those often found among mainstreamers, which are less noteworthy unless, of course, you like the brand. As mentioned, the scent is summery, even though it doesn’t really come off as fresh; it should have had less synthetic (especially in the base) and anise, but well. For me, there are much nicer fragrances, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend a test.
