Similar, similar, but different
I had mixed associations first time smelling it. Opening was an instant flash of Santal 33 DNA topped with sweet mint (not the menthol part but the l-carvone part) instead of the cucumber/violet leaf, then quickly joined by an accord that reminded me of Oud Malaki and Halfeti or Costume National Homme, all are lactonic-cedar and sandalwood mixtures. Zara's WO/03 Café Et Cèdre came to mind too. Overall this is a familiar profile, but not a close-copy of anything I could pinpoint. Dry down is vanillic-sandalwood. With the top notes of Maroc mint and shiso I was expecting more funk, especially from the Shiso as it's packed with cuminic touches, none of the funk is here - very smooth fragrance that doesn't have "tricky" aspects.
