The beautiful Garden of Cardamom
We all know Fragonard as a traditional brand from the heartland of perfume, the city of Grasse. The "Le Jardin de Fragonard" series is the most exciting and best idea Fragonard has come up with in the last ten years. The "Jardin Series" kicked off with a lovely quartett in 2013, then a beautiful rose-scent followed in 2014. This year Fragonard launched "Santal Cardamome", the sixth scent in the collection, which went straight on to my wishlist.
No flowers here, but gorgeous cardamome - (I adore the stuff), pimento and incense in the heart. Cardamome has that strange quality of smelling chilly and warm at the same time. When the scent dries down, it develops a woody base of sandalwood and benzoin. Seductive, especially because of those trails of incense, delivering a kind of soft powderiness. Seriously, seriously beautiful. Fantastic staying power, a lovely bottle and a very good price add to the pleasure.

Simple but satisfying cardamom
Very simple but good, Santal Cardamome is one of best representations of the cardamom note in modern perfumery. Here the note smells gently green, fizzy, and soapy – but crucially, not metallic or sporty as it can sometimes appear in some modern masculines. Instead, bracketed by a soft pink pepper and chili support, the cardamom reads as aromatic and clean. The sandalwood is just there to lend a hand in keeping the spices aloft, letting the sun catch their angles like a pavé diamond.

thank you jeremy :(
I have been smelling everything since I can remember, even if it stinks... I just have to. Smelling the "world" is definitely cheaper than sniffing bottles :) I mostly had Davidoff perfumes and so on... the world of perfumes has always seemed to me: artificially cheap snob bullshit sold expensively to people who hardly attach any meaning to the sensual experience of smelling... and wear fragrances because of the name and the price.

By chance, I stumbled upon Jeremy on YouTube... I can't really get him as a type. But I can imagine something when he says something, and he has good insider info for the curious.
Santal-Cardamome was my entry to YOU, bought blind. Because this sounded interesting.

Finally tried it, and SC captivated me immediately, and I still love it. This is the best I have smelled in bottles for myself (at that time, it wasn't much).

Then he mentioned something about Office for Man, and I thought, hey, his tip for Santal-Cardamome hit the nail on the head! I want to know what his own scent is like.... yes, I bought it... and yes, I think it's good, although not super-duper amazing but really good. I gave it to my younger brother since I'm not really the target group for it. My brother loves it and is happy.

And me? ... what about me? I have been dissatisfied since Santal-Cardamome, searching for THE perfume scent... because there must be something that opens up even more within me.
Thank you, Jeremy! :( If I hadn't liked SC, that would have been it for my bottle world excursion...

...I was happy when I could still smell rotting birch wood in the forest, brewed plantation tea, opened books, lamp posts, cake, plants, carpets, the freshly opened coffee package, washed curtains, dusty heating radiators when turning them on for the first time when it gets really cold again,... I think I'm putting myself in a weirdo corner now :D
But the best are my girlfriend's armpits! When something smells there, it's slightly spicy, minimally sweet, and a strange flower wilting but not unpleasant..... ..... oh yes

Parfumo gave me the rest. I am totally hooked on learning more about the world of perfumes.
But briefly about the scent:

mmhh this sweet spiciness! slight sharpness, a touch of sweatiness. bluish-green. and warm. oh, I just see that a statement would have sufficed. I now know through SC that I like pepper and cardamom in perfumes. And this gentle spicy sweatiness that resonates.
My girlfriend would get jealous if she reads this, hehe
Where I perceive cardamom in La Nuit d L'homme as sweet and dull, here it is fresher and peppery.

The other Fragonards are unfortunately quite different. This one stands out clearly.

Scent: deliciously unique
Longevity: better than most Fragonards.
Sillage: well noticeable. good arm's length. You can see it in people's faces that they can smell you. Positive
Bottle: way too small
And now back to the search for what is better for ME than this. Cheers ;)

Pure Comfort Scent
This fragrance is particularly special to me, as I am usually more of a fan of feminine scents, not unisex ones. The reason I have taken it to my heart lies much more in the feeling it evokes in me. Santal Cardamome immediately triggers a relaxation of the senses - it smells like a spa where you go to unwind. I find myself almost addicted to it, so natural, warm, sweet, spicy, light, yet still characterful and unique. The only downside is the slightly biting note at the beginning, which has also been mentioned by others, but fortunately, it fades away quite quickly.

All in all, it is a wonderful scent in which I feel comfortable. Not a fragrance for going out or dressing up for me, but one that mentally transports me to the spa with its aromas. I love that!

And one more word about the box: I like it so much! Noble, elegant, creative, artistic, blue and green. Those are exactly the colors I associate with the fragrance...

Noble Woods
Truly a successful fragrance! Above all, it delivers on its promise: sandalwood and cardamom are both present and create a balanced spicy-woody aura. They interact very well without overpowering each other.
The beauty of the perfume is that it feels very noble without tipping into that overwhelming sweetness that many woody fragrances have these days to lend them more "orientality" (certainly a trend influenced by Arabic perfumes).
The scent is warm, but in a "dry" and "spicy" way. The incense in the heart note adds a mystical touch without becoming intrusive. An additional green note comes from the bay leaf, slightly softening the smoky structure. In the dry down, the fragrance becomes a bit softer, yet retains its distinctive "woodiness."
For the price, the longevity and sillage are absolutely on point.
I would recommend the fragrance in autumn and spring, but also on cool summer days.

A very harmonious, warm and spicy fragrance without being too wintry. For me, sandalwood, allspice and a light citrus dominate.

I wanted it to be better because I love cardamom. Sadly, this brand makes me nauseas. Meh.

Wonderful. A bright, shimmering cardamom floats like a firefly over the sandalwood crowns. A scent like an erotic hypnosis.

A very pleasant cardamom perfume, where you can smell the note throughout and rightly placed it in the spotlight.

A little fresh-spicy autumn breeze with a spray button. Cool scent, I like it right away. My insider tip for the upcoming autumn.
