Tea Pearl. That’s the translation of this fragrance here, which makes one think that it could be a wonderful tea scent, unless one is reminded of the saying “casting pearls before swine” :D
Well, in any case, I am particularly excited, as always, to test tea scents. Especially when it’s called Tea Pearl, as pearl always stands for something particularly wonderful in a positive sense, and one can therefore expect a great tea fragrance here. At this point, thanks to a perfumer who, by the way, seems to know every fragrance ever made in the world (just freaks here…! I must be the only one not addicted to this obsession called perfumes :D). So thank you for the sample of this fragrance :) And since the bottle looks nice alongside the pleasantly sounding fragrance notes, I hope that the scent simply smells beautiful!
And what does my title mean? Well, you’ll find out after the fragrance description!!
The Scent:
The scent starts off quite fresh, and even before one can perceive the lemon from the top notes, one immediately smells the fresh, beautiful scent of green tea. Together with the mentioned citrus fruit, the top note is refreshing and lovely, even if one should already be familiar with this combination from many other similar fragrances.
A slight sweetness seems to be present, but it’s still unclear where it comes from; however, I would guess it’s the jasmine, which indeed turns out to be the case after a few more minutes.
A little later, the tea harmonizes beautifully with the mentioned jasmine, and now woods also come into play, giving the fragrance a certain warmth without diminishing its freshness.
Over time, the tea takes on a slightly more bitter note, allowing one to recognize the wonderful tea note even more. The sweetness remains, but overall it’s quite weak, so the fragrance isn’t really sweet.
Even in the (later) base, there’s only a slight sweetness present; otherwise, it mainly stays lightly woody, floral, and above all, somewhat bitter due to the lovely green tea. A nice fragrance, though not extraordinary, and also a scent that one has probably already sniffed in this form many times, but still very beautiful!
The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is weak, which is a pity, but unfortunately, that’s how it is, making it more of a fragrance for personal enjoyment, as one won’t stand out much with this scent.
The longevity is also short and lasts no longer than four hours.
The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular with strongly rounded corners. The most striking feature is the beautiful watercolor-like illustration on the glass, depicting a seahorse that seems to be greedily (or joyfully?) swimming towards a blue starfish. In any case, it’s a cute and really beautiful motif :)
Even if the bottle is very simple, it is significantly enhanced by this motif, and I really like it!
Hmm, according to the description of this fragrance, Pearl de Thé is a scent to retreat with a refreshing and thirst-quenching green tea in an Andalusian garden on a hot day and to enjoy the blooming jasmine.
Okay, and what if you don’t have an Andalusian garden nearby, but only your own, where you see the innards of mice lying around every five steps because the oh-so-cute-sweet-nice cat has once again wreaked bloody havoc? :D
One must admit, it’s always astonishing how with surgical precision the unwanted innards are removed, like the gallbladder, which you often find (but sometimes also perfectly bisected bodies….).
Anyway, before I digress further, I must agree with the description of the fragrance: Relaxing in the garden on a sunny day with a delicious drink is always nice. And this fragrance also reminds one of just that, and is of course very suitable for relaxing moments! It’s a scent that one can mostly only enjoy oneself, as it’s not too strong and long-lasting.
Those who like green tea scents should check out this fragrance, as I believe it belongs to the good green tea fragrances!
