perfect for spring!
smells like a cold, fresh spring day. this is what i imagine persephone to smell like. it’s a bit strong at first but after a few seconds you get the flowers. as the description says, this is perfect for spring. no matter if it’s a warm or cold day. however, unfortunately the scent doesn’t last long on your skin. on clothes, sure but for the body you’d have to re-spray it every 2-3 hours or so. still, i really enjoy wearing it since it makes me enjoy spring much more than usual :)

A timeless floral freshness
My first Jo Malone after an eternity, discovered by chance in Stuttgart when I wanted to show my good friend in Breuninger what I already own and love. There's also English Pear & Freesia, which is a completely different scent because it has patchouli and I only like patchouli in homeopathic doses, Sweat pea is the successor Released in 2023 and perfect for spring.
Fresh, elegant, timeless. Has something of Chanel's Eau Chance Tendre (pink), but fresher and more grown-up. A great pear, unfortunately far too rare in fragrances.
A romantic, feminine floral freshie.
The pear notes give the scented vetch blossoms a dewy, moist feeling without being too fruity. It is sweet and fresh at the same time. The mood changes with the season: in fall/winter, it smells delicate and elegant. In spring/early summer, it is flirty, fruity and more extroverted. Simple and already.
It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it's timelessly beautiful for the office, a date or a stroll.
This is a photo-realistic golden pear that you have bitten into with peel and juice.
English Pear & Sweet Pea has mediocre projection and longevity: layer, apply a thick layer of Vaseline underneath or spray on. A little like I wished Delina La Rose would smell.
Not for girls, but for women over 30.
I rarely like floral fragrances unless the make-up is fresh. My colleague said it smelled like expensive body mist, which is true, but not a Victoria's secret version.
I'm so glad I bought the beautiful limited edition bottle with the diamond glass design before they switched to the regular plain glass.

In search of the perfect vetch...
It's one of my favorite childhood memories: Every spring, my grandfather built a two-meter-high wall of "chicken wire" in the garden. First the peas would grow there and then, after harvesting them, the sweet peas would climb up. In the summer vacations, there was a beguilingly fragrant wall of flowers in the middle of the garden - beautiful in purple and red and pink and white - and above all, magically fragrant. I encountered the scent again later over a sweet cup of Earl Grey. In my nose, these scents are very close. So when I'm looking for a vetch scent, I'm actually looking for a sweet tea scent.

The English Pear & Sweet Pea is a nice stop on my search! It starts with a very clear pear. It is freshly sliced, still unpeeled, but already very ripe. The drydown slowly brings in the beautiful summer garden: a light green-floral note that combines very harmoniously with the pear. It is not as sweet as I would have expected based on the fragrance notes. Surprisingly, I actually find it very successful! The white musk in the base note rounds off the fragrance and gives it a gentle depth.

Of course, the Jo Melone fragrance does not satisfy my Earl Grey cravings. There are no hints of bergamot or black tea here. But seek and ye shall find: You can smell tea! But rather a gently brewed green tea, which goes perfectly with the slowly fading fruitiness.

The fragrance is really fine and warm! Even though it is unisex, many men will probably not dare to wear it. Of the 155 current owners here on Parfumo, only 8% are men. That doesn't surprise me. But all I can say is: too bad for you, you're missing out! ;)

And even if it doesn't have the same olfactory appeal as my grandpa, I can only recommend giving this understated beauty a chance! It's worth a sniff. And in the meantime, I'll continue my search for the perfect Grandpa Earl Grey Vetch ..

Fresh and fruity
First comes the fresh pear, which is nice and juicy green and not yet too sweet. I don't know exactly what sweet peas smell like. I can smell unsweet, green-stemmed blossoms. But every now and then, notes of tart herbal tea or sun-dried straw tickle my nose. Overall, the fragrance is floral, but definitely less sweet than I would have expected, becoming slightly creamy towards the end. Quite wonderful.

For a moment, I have to think of the large flowering shrub in my grandma's garden, whose branches hang down to the ground, creating a perfect cave to hide in. I used to spend hours playing there with Grandma as a child, with a soft carpet of moss and grass beneath me and a protective canopy of dense greenery and flowers above me.
Grandpa picked the pears and sometimes brought them to us for snacks, but only if he could find us in our secret hiding place.

I'm already looking forward to summer again.

The sweet pea is very literal here, like smelling it in a garden. The pear is sugary-sweet, almost a fantasy portrayal. They clash together.

No offense to anyone who likes this, but I can't handle it. It's a juvenile, cloying sweet scent on me, and I just... can't with this.
