This one has to be tried...
A few days ago, a fragrance sample of Liquid Sun was included with a perfume order. Well, I thought, since there are no comments on this yet, I will test this scent and write down my experience for you.
I opened the sample, looked at the clock, and applied a good amount to my wrist. My first impression is Neroli with a slight green note (mandarin leaf, I suspect?). Quite intense, but pleasant if you like this aroma. After about five minutes, the scent on my skin becomes a bit finer, softer. I now mainly smell mandarin or orange blossom. The fragrance is dense, but not in a way that overwhelms you.
A fine Frangipani note develops. Alongside it, the Neroli/orange blossom/mandarin scent remains a constant part of the sniffed fragrance molecules. The perfume is soft and warm and has something of the smell of freshly washed laundry on a clothesline in the meadow.
The sillage is such that you can perceive the scent in the room where I spent some time. My husband likes it and was able to smell it from about 50 cm away after a little over an hour.
After about 4 hours, it became slowly skin-close for me, and now after 5 hours, I have to sniff my wrist. I initially rubbed my dry skin with Vaseline - so the longevity could definitely be better.
I didn’t smell anything of the peony on my skin, and the ebony also eludes my nose. However, my nose doesn’t really have a clue what ebony smells like either ;-)
Woody notes didn’t smell like anything to me at all. Now at the end, the scent is soft and gentle; it could be musk and sandalwood.
Overall, this perfume was a little disappointing for me. Not because the fragrance notes are bad. It is also harmonious and office-appropriate... but the scent development is... let’s say; limited. For me, a bit too boring and also not a perfume that fits my preferences - but that’s not its fault!
