You Nut, You ...!
It took a whole seven years before Paco Rabanne finally released an "Extrême" version of the best-selling XS pour Homme.
For some, perhaps too long, for others, anything but necessary.
The predecessor didn't quite convince me back then, but at that time, Paco Rabanne managed to launch a few decent fragrances before later opting for quantity over quality with 1 Million.
XS Extrême pour Homme is, in contrast to the regular XS, a bit stronger, but not much longer-lasting.
Here, the juniper really makes its presence felt, but the leather and cedar also seem much more prominent and mature. At times, the base note wavers between nutty and woody - however, with a rather dry undertone. I come to the personal conclusion that there should be a bit more punch towards the end to really engage me. Overall, the scent, especially in the base note, is a bit too scratchy for my liking.
A year later, Ultraviolet was released, a fragrance that is completely opposite to this one - but for me, belongs to Paco's best.
And even the Black XS line has as much in common with the original XS, apart from the bottle shape, as a cow does with ice dancing.
Let's see when a sport version of XS comes out.
