RIP Giorgio. What is your favourite Armani fragrance

With the passing of the legend Giorgio Armani I thought it would be interesting to hear what people’s favourite fragrances are or have been from the house of Armani. RIP Giorgio, and thank you for giving us the amazing Acqua di Giò pour Homme Eau de Toilette line among others, working with the fresh master perfumer Alberto Morillas.

So I would say for me in my 20s I absolutely loved the now discounted Emporio Armani City Glam for Him

Nowadays I would say either Acqua di Giò Profumo Parfum or Acqua di Giò Profondo Parfum and I actually really liked Acqua di Giò Elixir when I tested it.

though I will be testing the new Code Elixir tomorrow at the airport so that could make the list 😊

Where to start when it comes to his lagecy regarding fragrances while my heart cries ? With the release of the very first release of Armani ever, Armani Eau de Toilette , Armani Parfum ....which started my infinitive love for fragrances. Lots have happened since then but my love for Armani is still the same. I used to say that I have a Secret Love and while everyone knows his name, Giorgio never noticed it...I'm gonna miss you so badly, R.I.P. my secret love 💝

@LeatherLace nice to see someone else who enjoys Armani as much as me, so much so that I named my parakeet Armani when I got him at the age of about 17/18 😊

While fully dressed in Armani yesterday I really wanted to try the new Code Elixir and would have bought it if I liked it while at the airport but surprisingly they didn’t have it yet. Would have been nice to get a new Armani fragrance in his honour. Maybe next time they will have it 🥰

It's a pity that the Code Elixir wasn't available but I'm sure it won't take long before its in your collection as a special memory in Giorgio Armani's honor. I cherish my Armani collection that includes also samples that are almost 40 years old. I never opened them simply because they are collection-items🥰

Oh yeah Emporio Armani - Stronger with You Intensely is delicious also, I am wanting to try Emporio Armani - Stronger With You Absolutely also to see how it is with the boozy note to it 🥰

I wore Armani Pour Homme back when I was in college., 1993ish.   I'd love to buy another bottle, but the vintage prices are too expensive for me at the moment.   😒

Armani fragrances are amazing! Armani Code Cashmere used to be my signature fragrance about 10 years ago and I still love it. 💜 Armani Code Ultimate pour Femme is very beautiful too but sadly discontinued, I only have about 10 ml left in my bottle and I would need a backup bottle sooooo badly... 🥺 From the Code line I love also Armani Code Absolu pour Femme and Armani Code Luna.

I adore Giò/Gioia line too, my favourites are Sun di Gioia and Ocean di Gioia, and also Acqua di Giò Absolu and Acqua di Giò Profondo Parfum from my husband @Mitchcraft's collection. I also love Emporio Armani - Stronger with You Intensely on him.

One of the amazing discontinued Armani gems is also Onde Extase, absolutely gorgeous!

I wear Ocean di Gioia regularly. My favorite for men is Acqua di Gio Profondo. All versions of Armani Code are great as well.

Funnily enough, just after a few hours I had posted this, my mum had been to a secondhand store and had found there an almost full 50 ml bottle of Sky di Gioia for just a few euros. She had bought it to me and said she knew it was worth a lot more than that because she had also heard that mr. Armani had just died. She thought the fragrance would be something that I would like but she didn't know if I had a bottle already, and actually I hadn't even smelled it before so it was such an amazing surprise! 🥰 I really like the fragrance, it doesn't remind me of the sky though because it's not "airy" really, however it's such a pleasant smell and a very versatile perfume.

We really love Acqua di Gioia Eau de Toilette . I say 'we', because my daughters each have a bottle as well as myself, and there's even an extra stashed in their bathroom.

There are historic fragrances like Ô de Lancôme Eau de Toilette or Echt Kölnisch Wasser Eau de Cologne that have traditionally been adopted as a shared household fragrance, and I wanted to carry on the practice somewhat. No, ADG is not an EDC, it's an EDT, but it's light enough and uplifting enough. I also think it's unisex, my husband has worn it a couple of times comfortably (anything is unisex of course, but he prefers classically masculine things). I would've personally preferred Mugler EDC because it's my favorite EDC, but it's discontinued, too expensive to use liberally, and my daughters like it, but don't love it like they do ADG.

My girls actually decided on this mostly, because when I initially purchased and began wearing mine, they were extremely complimentary. I asked if they wanted a bottle, and they both absolutely did. We got them on sale fortunately, one leaked, so I recieved a replacement (the leaker is stored upright in the bathroom). It was after this that it clicked to me - 'You've been fascinated with the concept of a shared family signature/EDC, and here it is!'.

Majority of people nowadays don't have patience to read which is a shame but that doesn't mean that longer texts shouldn't be written, on the contrary I think they should be appreciated more. 🥰 I completely agree that Acqua di Gioia Eau de Toilette is a gorgeous classic and suits everyone and every occasion too. I have a vintage bottle of the edp version myself and I love it!

Acqua di Giò Profumo is often considered the standout Armani fragrance because it combines the freshness of the original Acqua di Giò with smoky incense, creating a scent that is versatile, sophisticated, and timeless.

My newest Armani top favourite is Emporio Armani - Power of You for sure 😍 I wasn't expecting too much based on its notes but I randomly tested it at a perfume store some time ago and surprisingly it was super love on the first sniff ❣️ I bought a full bottle from the airport duty free about a week ago and I have worn it most days ever since and can't stop thinking about it on those days when I'm not wearing it so seems that this one is going to be one of my top favourite fragrances of all time 😁

What a legend.  I would have to say Gio (for women) or Armani Mania Pour Femme are my favorite marketed towards women, and the original Code for men.  I too enjoy wearing fragrances marketed toward both sexes, but for reference, it is best to differentiate.

I’ve never been a huge fan of the house, but the original Armani Code (2004) Eau de Toilette was great. I don’t like the new direction they’ve taken that line unfortunately.
