Autumn Fragrances

Autumn Fragrances 0

Hi, I‘m looking for warm and cozy perfumes for autumn. Any suggestions would be great except for too spicy, smoky, or leathery ones. Could you recommend me one? Thanks!

I don't know if you've seen yet that there's a possibility to see all perfumes people have tagged "autumn" here?

There's one I know is generally thought of as wonderfully cosy-autumny: Etat Libre d'Orange Like This. A lot of people talk about a cosy-warm-sweet-pumpkin pie scent, it sounds like it would be in the line of what you'd be looking for?

(My impression of it is quite different, as the fresh ginger note remains strong on me all through, and it never goes into gourmand territory for me, but somehow it feels both very singular, and indeed warmth-of-home-y. Love it!)

Hi!

In the fall, I love to wear warmer citrus scents, a bit ambery or somewhat chypre. My absolute favorites are Vento di Fiori and Mandarine Sultane .

Fall is also the perfect season for sandalwood. My favorite creamy-cozy-fig-sandalwood is by far If by R.K. . I also highly recommend Santal majuscule . A very interesting perfume is "Replica - Autumn Vibes | Maison Margiela". No sandalwood listed, but it smells like that. Actually, it doesn't even smell of perfume, but of autumn (pickles included).

Then, although I'm not really a fan of amber (too vanillic in most of the cases), I adore to wear Wood Cereal and Chergui Eau de Parfum in November.

Finally, my patchoulis. In the fall, I most often reach for Nouveau Genre (unfortunately, discontinued) and Patchouli Nobile Eau de Parfum.

I hope this helps. Smile

Thanks so much! I'll definitely try that. It sounds amazing💕

Thanks! All sound great, but Santal majuscule and Autumn vibes seem right up my alley. I‘ll try other ones, too.

Rousse ! Yesss, a bit dry-dusty but autumny indeed.
Seconding the soft mellow sandalwood of Santal majuscule, too.

Looks like Uncle S. can lean that way a number of times, actually.

I had forgotten Jeux de peau could also totally fit the bill, as it's also a soft sandalwood, but with a breakfast / goûter (there's no equivalent to goûter in English?! It's the 4pm little meal where you usually have sweeter food, toast with jam, brioche, cookies, you name it, and the school day being over makes it all twice yummier).

Er, so, I was saying, there's a cosy, warmth of being home, goûter mood to it as the creamy sandalwood is topped with a (quite realistic) scent of toasted bread, a touch of apricot jam, and next to it a warm bowl of sweetish, milky beverage (opinions might differ on which, but I am firmly convinced that it has at least some North-of-France typical chicory).

This one might actually be the best bet, come to think of it!

(...er, I just realized that we might all be recommending away Uncle Serge remembering the good ole' days of the 85 euros bottles. Unfortunately, things have been turning stupid a few years ago at now-bought out Lutens®, Inc. The prices have spiraled up and the perfumes jump randomly from one collection to the other, change bottles (and prices and availability), and then change again, so they might not be the most convenient options.

Still, they're really worth testing, especially with the specific mood you're looking for, I'd say!)

Here are the ones I’m most excited to wear this fall! They’re almost all gourmands, but aren’t too heavy on the vanilla compared to your “standard” gourmands imo.

- Ginger Biscuit

- Monday

- Sunday

- Crumb Couture

- Blackberry & Bay Cologne

I love wearing Ysatis Eau de Toilette in all seasons, but I (and many) find it very appropiate for autumn.

I haven't been so much into Vanillas but now I have started to be obsessed with Fire at Will , Ruby Naga , Lune Féline Extrait , Vanille de Tahiti Eau de Parfum , all those I need. I didn't care so much Oud Nude either but now I feel that I need that one as well. And Velvet Iris is beautiful cozy Iris with Vanilla.

Fo me, an absolute comfort fragrance for fall/winter is Jaïpur Homme Eau de Parfum. I find it creamy, clean and a little powdery. It is also sweet, but it also has a certain citrusy freshness. Especially if you like vanilla or cinnamon, the fragrance could be a good fit. It's actually a men's fragrance, but for me it's unisex.

Soie Malaquais all the way! It is luxurious and comforting. Not too heavy. A great signature scent.

@Jenevieve I cannot recommend Kalemat enough.
"Encens Suave | Matière Première" is another great for cooler weather.

I have no idea if you like coffee scents but for some reason I always associate autumn with it.

Here are so nice one that I own/ed or smelled :

- Little Song : beautiful and poetic.

- Awake : realistic, strong and limy.

- Café Cabanel spicy, gourmand and buttery coffee.

- Café Tabac tobacco, rich coffee.

Take a look (sniff) at Tempête d'Automne and/or 34 Boulevard Saint Germain Eau de Parfum both are great for autumn and may be what you're looking for. I can't wait for the Weather to change so I can break them out again.

Take a look (sniff) at Tempête d'Automne . . .

If you are interested in this fragrance run, not walk, but run over to FragranceNet right now! They have the 1.7oz bottle of Tempete d'Automne for $25.19 on clearance. I grabbed one and a larger size of Velours Boise (only have 1.7oz now) for a screaming deal. They just shipped today. I had to add two samples to get free shipping but oh well.

I mean a how can you say no to a blind buy that is 1.7oz for $25.19 (they have both mentioned in that size for that price so two bottles for $50, come on)!

My 22y/o daughter would second the Autumn Vibes suggestion. She adores it in the autumn and says it smells great on clothing too.
