Love letter to White Florals 4

I'm just starting to educate myself on fragrances. As I've been sampling like crazy and the weather gets warmer here in the northern hemisphere, my most surprising discovery is my love for white florals. There's nothing more romantic to me. I like them sweet and heady and over the top. Give me indolic and bubblegummy. I love them all. Here are my favorites with white florals so far:

Ashore Sultry jasmine, candyish rose water, and mineral sea salt.

Honour 43 Jasmine, tuberose, and gardenia with beautiful fresh green notes and resins. More refined than ultra romantic.

Love Tuberose Luscious tuberose, jasmine, and gardenia with just a little vanilla cream.

Moon Bloom Natural indolic jasmine and tuberose along with coconut milk, green leaves, and cloves.

I have a sample of Carnal Flower Eau de Parfum to try next.

What are your favorite white floral fragrances?

I love white florals! I also like them big and lush. Especially jasmine.

Death & Decay Solid Perfume : Really heavy, indolic, white floral. I'm sure the liquid perfume is the same but I haven't tried it.

Jasmin Antique : My favorite jasmine. Just jasmine, done really well.

I've heard good things about À la nuit and Sarrasins but I haven't tried them.

If you haven't already, try Tuberóza Extrait de Parfum. Quite a pleasant floral, although short-lived on my skin

Diptyque's Do Son Eau de Toilette may be a little too light for those who like rich fragrances, but the scent lasts relatively long for an EDT, and it has a realistic and narcissistic scent.

3

Seconding Do Son Eau de Toilette because it sits in the perfect threshold of pleasant to excruciatingly loud white floral — but if you want to try a cold, soft and almost standoffish take on white florals, I'll throw my dear Gardénia Eau de Parfum to the ring...a lot of people seem to wear Gardénia on their wedding day, and just one whiff is enough to understand why... 🌟

if you like bubblegum, try L'Interdit by Givenchy I should say.

the Tuberose is outstanding placed into it, a love to me.

Gelsomini di Capri Eau de Parfum !!! Lovely bublegummy Jasmin scent. Not too indolic, but a true Jasmin and very uplifting and joyful, perfect for spring and summer!!

Oh and "Terracotta Le Parfum | Guerlain" but the one from their Les Legendaires line which is not in the database yet, it is longer lasting and has better sillage than their previous one (as mentioned above). It is quite indolic and tropical.

White florals, it’s something I hated not that long ago. But something just clicked all of a sudden and now I can really appreciate it al lot! I love Reflection Man , Pegasus and even Fame Intense !

What are your favorite white floral fragrances?

I have a deep love of natural white florals (jasmine essential oil may be my favorite scent in the world) but I have yet to find my perfect fragrance rendition of a jasmine. Moon Bloom actually sounds really perfect, and I need to try it!

Outside of strictly jasmine:

Snow Gardenia Perfume Oil is my favorite gardenia.

Fleurs d'oranger is my favorite orange blossom.

Fils de joie is my favorite heady white floral incense type of scent, I know this is meant to be jasmine but there's too much else going on for me to perceive it that way.

Datura noir Eau de Parfum is my favorite tuberose, I guess - mainly because I haven't smelled any other tuberose dominant scents, but as you can see, I'm a Serge fan, and I doubt it gets better than this!

I have just received samples of California Rêverie and Spring Dance, both of which seem like they might be contenders for a perfect jasmine, finally.

@ScentNebula If you like, please try Lust Perfume from LUSH. I also like jasmine essential oil, but this one has a lot of essential oils in it. Be careful, it's too strong. It also has an obscene amount of indole. Many people say it's too sexual.

I've tried this one in store on a blotter! It is very indolic, true, but I also found it a bit too sweet and kind of fruity I think? I haven't really resonated with any Lush fragrances except for Breath of God Perfume , which I almost considered buying but never got round to.

After I posted, I learned that you classified/registered that scent as “Sampled on Paper Profiler.” I see, it seems a bit too sweet. it doesn't fit the essence of LUSH, I guess.

@Chrysoptera you just convinced me to try Love Tuberose based on your description alone - so thank you for sharing, I'm excited to try it!

Have you tested Florence Eau de Parfum ? It's the most gorgeous, true-to-life, creamy-indolic white gardenia (though it also has tuberose and jasmine in the mix!). There's some realistic greenery too - which is such a nice, fresh touch to balance the headiness!

Thank you all so much for the recommendations! I'm so excited to try them. I'll post an update when I do.

+1 Florence Eau de Parfum

If you like a more tropical gardenia, Kai Eau de Parfum

Gardenia is my ultimate bubblegummy Gardenia, but it's discontinued. (👀 Me with my 3 bottles to last a lifetime.)

I prefer Olène over Do Son Eau de Toilette, but that's because my nose doesn't always play well with too much tuberose. It's a bit intense for day/work wear. A lot of personality.

Jasminum Sambac is pretty good, but I admit I rehomed my bottle.

I'm loving Jasmin Divin right now. It possibly has an edge over Olène.

White Full and Full Eau de Parfum are popular soliflores, but I think a little unrefined and abrasive alone. Super affordable.

Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Toilette has been the only Chanel I've liked enough to not wear layered.

J'adore Parfum d'Eau is on my top shelf list as well.

Jasmin Perle de Thé Parfum is probably my #2 fragrance, but it's more about the freshness of the tea and bergamot, which is why I like to punch up the jasmine/white florals with Olène.

Nick's Sunflower is a different jasmine fragrance. I can't justify the FB price to my bank account.

You might want to give some of the popular lily of the valley scents a try. I struggle with them, but if $ wasn't an issue, I'd have a bottle of Lucky Eau de Parfum

White florals are amazing. I adore Alien Eau de Parfum and its flankers. I love also white floral fragrances by Lush, for example Lust Perfume and Death & Decay Perfume. Tropical white florals like Cheirosa '87 and Soleil Blanc Eau de Parfum are also absolutely gorgeous. 🤍

1

@Lempi I really do need to try Alien Eau de Parfum at some point. I sampled vintage Alien Essence Absolue and I didn't get any florals. Death & Decay Perfume is on my list and Soleil Blanc Eau de Parfum looks good too!

I blind bought Figment Woman because I got a good price and it incorporates some beautiful tuberose, jasmine, and orange blossom with a sweet green menthol note, ylang ylang, and cinnamon. The base notes are papyrus, frankincense, and patchouli (I haven't gotten that far yet but I'm very curious about the papyrus).

1

Great to hear dear @Chrysoptera ☺️👍 There actually is a very strong jasmine note in Alien Essence Absolue, at least in the 1st formulation that I own. However jasmine in all Aliens is so nuclear strong that I have heard several people going immediately nose blind to it, especially if sprayed more than 1 spray. So I have no idea if that was the case or if there are batch differences. Anyway Essence Absolue is a lot warmer and sweeter than the original, the original is a lot more floral. The new L'Oréal formulation is more soapy floral and the old Mugler/Clarins formulations are very bright white florals with a very original twist.

1

@Lempi I wondered whether my vintage sample was not well kept since I mostly just got vanilla. I will give it another try. I want to love Alien because the bottles are so beautiful.

1

I got a very affordable ''dupe'' of Reflection Man - Mouj Affection, and it works as good as. Loving its ethereal cleanliness, but I have to say it's much less well rounded than the original, even if it smells very close to.

1

@Vlyr nice! I have tried Reflection Woman Eau de Parfum. It was nice but nothing special and honestly not worth the price.

Yes imo also not worth the price, but for 14€ it's not a bad one the clone, I will give it to my mom I think ☺️ she likes florals

Yeah, sounds like the sample might have gone bad if no white florals could be detected. There's definitely a strong boozy vanilla vibe but not as strong that it would fully hide the loud jasmine note. I actually disliked the original Alien at first, I had blind bought it just because of the bottle, but then I started to fully understand the fragrance years later and now it's one of my top favourites of all time. Btw if it seems that the original Alien DNA just isn't your thing, the whole Alien Goddess line is very different from the original, so that could probably be worth testing.
