Gotta love Tobacco 0

Recently I bought myself a bottle of "Signature Collection - Moroccan Amber | Dunhill" and I’m completely in love with the tobacco vibe it gives. It’s not mentioned in the notes but it’s smell does bring me back 40+ years when I had to buy my mother her tobacco in the cigar store. I’m not a smoker and I hate the smell of cigarettes but tobacco.. that’s an other story!

I’m now in search for something stronger. Anyone with good suggestions?

Tabac 28 - Straight up raw cigar tobacco
Vanille Havane Eau de Parfum - The best version of the vanilla/tobacco combination.
Opus XIV - Royal Tobacco - Not technically a tobacco-centric scent but worth a mention. Very very powerful herbal anise and smoky amber, with the smooth tobacco holding it all together
Carlisle - Sweet fruity and boozy tobacco. Superior to Red Tobacco and Triumph of Bacchus Eau de Parfum imo

True Tobacco?  I mean tobacco leafs, not aromas used in tobacco blends.

Cigar Commando, Latour.

Michael Kors for men.

Somehow unrelated - sorry about that. It gets my attention how tobacco can be blended so differently. I bought blind two leather and tobacco scents.

One  delves in the direction of the femenine side of things, a totally unexpected thing and not something bad per se for it is a quite discreet scent.

The other one is truly masculine, however very very medicinal.

My experience with tobacco leafs was limited to the original Michael Kors for men and Cigar Commando by Latour. These two smelt worlds away. A total surprise.

I am not mentioning the houses, it is useless, one is a very small local house operative since the 1920's without any presence overseas; the other one is new, and as the other, they do not sell overseas.

Plus I don't want this to be read as a pitch or promotion.

Thanks @Smirky@Omnipotato and @Matux it seems that I’ve got some work to do! 😃

I do. That's not usually my kind of perfume, but with this one, it was "love at first sniff".

I can recommend Feuilles de Tabac from Miller Harris for a realistic tobacco leaf. Dry, brittle and cigar-like. Spiced up with notes of pine, pimento and vetiver. Quite different from the sweet tobacco infusions that are common nowadays.

Oh, and Aramis Havana Eau de Toilette is a great one too.

I don't know the fragrance you mentioned, but a wonderful classic tobacco fragrance from the 80s that I can highly recommend is Open Eau de Toilette.

That looks like a beautiful fragrance @Hapax but sadly discontinued. I’d love to smell it though!

Yeah, it's discontinued, but still available and quite reasonably priced, at least here.

I’m in Germany at the moment so I’ll keep an eye open for it, thanks for the suggestion!

@Ceesie I meant online. I don't know if you can find the fragrance anywhere locally.

Well today I tried Borntostandout Smokin' Gun and my first impression is that it’s pretty bloody brilliant. A bit oriental, spices, dry tea, tobacco.

Here is a selection of perfumes that bright tobacco up :

Cuir Cuba Intense (really based on a thick dry, earthy and rich tobacco leaf complimented with a slightly thick leather)

Vanille Havane Eau de Parfum (cacao, tobacco, vanilla, rhum and dried fruits done to perfection; it's perfect spring/winter smell)

Tabac Tabou (a bouquet of fruity flowers upon which a rich and creamy pipe tobacco emerges, with an oriental and animalic touch)

Fumerie turque (a hookah tobacco on a bed of honey-glazed dried fruits and animalic leather)

2# Nota di Viaggio (Shukran…) (it's really a mint based perfume, yet on the dry down a beautiful tobacco takes the lead in this very poetic composition)

Hello

Here are a few ideas

A mysterious tobacco.

Enflammé

Tobacco with a good vintage Armagnac.
With good spices.
At first you can't smell the tobacco, but after a while the tobacco gives it a velvety quality.

Royal Bourbon

A tobacco with notes of vanilla and honeyed fruit, but not very sweet. It remains very elegant.
It's the best of the best.

Black Dragon

The hold of the three fragrances is also excellent.

Ah, there's tobacco and tobacco.

For a sweet, delicate, high-end and "white" tobacco try Liquor BPM L'Orchestre Parfum. Also very good: Beat Café . For a more "dirty" or "retro" feel, Vanilla Flash or Memory Motel...

I already saw 2# Nota di Viaggio (Shukran…) on a list. Really wonderful and unusual fragrance. Worth a try...
