What fragrance is number 1 on your wishlist and why?

Yes, sometime in the last couple of years there was a law passed about ingredients in cosmetics & skincare products limiting certain ingredients. Obviously Guerlain doesn't want to reformulate just to be able to sell in Cali, so it makes sense. I actually support the law overall but it cracks me up how certain legacy products might have gotten caught in the net when it is meant to weed out newer products with "forever chemicals" more than anything else.

Ah okay, that makes sense why it was passed - but yes, unfortunate that it's limited some of your access as a result. A fragrance road trip does sound fun, though! 👯‍♀️🙌

I believe my husband and I are going to either New Orleans or Chicago for the winter holidays this year, so I will definitely be able to pick up a bottle. I hate having to wait, but maybe this way it'll be more special since it is associated with a vacation.

Number one is Des Cendres by Les Abstraits.   This just sounds right up my ally with all the notes.  They also say that it is kind of like a classic 80's vibe that I dig.

Followed by:

Bel Ami Vetiver and ADP Sandalo.  I loved the original Bel Ami when introduced in the 80's but I hear nothing but good things regarding this flanker with vetiver.  Hopefully someday it will actually get cold enough where I live to order it.  As far as the Sandalo, I just received Essenza and am enjoying it for it's citrus opening and soft woody/patchouli dry down, but, I love sandalwood and have read that the dry down in Sandalo is beautiful.

Actually...none....Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I hate every new fragrance I'm smelling (except 'new' vintage kind of scents) every sample I get (when purchasing something like a facecream for instance) doesn't thrill me or worse: make me want to scrub it off Sad

Very frustrating because I feel like the old lady I actually am ( 64 LOL Smile), only loving the classic scents...

If someone can recommend something 'modern' that someone like me would/could like or - rather - love...I'm open for suggestions...Smile

I’m thinking of Ombre Nomade but bigger bottle.

Actually, the same, I hate all the fragrances I smell, but I love some Louis Vuitton, so I think you've got to find Parfümer who has also similar "taste buds" as you, and I found my. Which ones do you like.

im 20yo male and already tired of fragrances.

My number one is Xerjoff "Naxos | XerJoff"

Sweet, vanilla, tobacco.. I’m in love.

I’ll have to save up for that one though. Next designer purchase will probably be Prada Luna Rossa Black

Okay, changing my answer to Bois Mystique by Houbigant.

Hi @Leolight421, Good to know I'm not the only one Smile But I must admit I don't know a lot of niche perfumes and have been avoiding notes of which I just can't imagine them to be nice (gourmand and such), so I guess I should indeed need to sample some of the more 'niche' scents and experience notes I've never really experienced. Some niche shops here do have sample-services. I think next month I'll give that a try. All I know is that I really dislike the overdose of vanilla in a lot of todays scents, but those are the more 'mainstream' ones so maybe it is about the blend...

I'll update again, but can't settle on a single. Let's just say this is my number 1 wish list group. 😃

Sandalo Eau de Parfum

Interlude Man

Opus XIII - Silver Oud

Pasha de Cartier Noir Absolu

Equipage Eau de Toilette

Ombre Noire

Papilefiko

Ambre sultan Eau de Parfum

Rhinoceros (2020)

Terre d'Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver

Emeer

Juste Filthy

Scatamalis

Above is mainly thinking about fall/winter. Where I'm at, not unusual to have first snow in another 3 to 4 weeks. Will still have to whittle that list down because my wallet is already whittled down. hahaha For me, it's lots of fun testing fragrances from samples but then the wish list keeps on growing.

Well Joma finally got in Bel Ami Vetiver and at a great price so . . . yeah I placed an order.

Now the list is as follows:

1. Bois Mystique by Houbigant

2. Sandalo by ADP

3. Des Cendres by Les Abstraits

Without a doubt my top two right now are:

Patchouli Magnetik
^ Kinda obsessed with this one lately. Got two samples in last Saturday, already have almost gone through one 😅 Love this bizarre but warm and curious group of accords from Crivelli.

Haltane
^ Didn’t expect to like this one but wow it’s blown my socks off too! Worth the PdM price in my opinion.

My next purchase will be Soie Malaquais and Pacific Chill

they are really different. Soie Malaquais is for me the definition of a good fall winter fragrance - delicious hazelnut and some super warm cozy note of “silk”.
Pacific Chill is perfect in hot weather. It smells like a ice cold ice tea. Performance is great too.

Mandorle Extrait de Parfum

As soon as I smelled it, I fell in love.

It has everything I love: almond, cherry, sweetness and a subtle leather fragrance that leaves an elegant trail.

It was love at first sight.

And one last love, because I can't live without it.
This one is mysterious, an amber, resinous benzoin.
It leaves a veil of enchantment over me, and it's just as beautiful on my boyfriend, but on him it's so seductive.

Benjoin Bohème

Right now, my number one fragrance on my wishlist is Gucci flora because this is quite luxury perfume and smell very nice.

Vétiver Écarlate because it recreates the scent of summer perfectly with the truest ripening fresh off the vine tomato notes. Just praying they're not discontinuing this gem because I haven't seen it in my country recently.

The scent that currently tops my 'obtainable' wishlist is "Hibiscus MahaJád | Maison Crivelli". It's a wonderful, strong extrait at a price point I'm willing to put down for it. After that will be Oud for Greatness Eau de Parfum, Pas Ce Soir Extrait and Philosykos Eau de Toilette.

When it comes to 'unobtainable scents', my holy grail at the moment is Diaghilev Parfum, but at €1000 that's not happening anytime soon.
Nefs was always #1 on my list but after I finally got the chance put my nose on it a few weeks ago, I was sadly left disappointed after reading all of it's wonderful reviews.

1

Angélique Noire

But Guerlain’s prices are diabolical so this will remain on my wish-list until I meet the love of my life and he asks me to marry him. I plan to make this my wedding scent so until then, wish-list it remains.

Also considering Kirkè Extrait de Parfum, Dolce Passione and Nebras as my future purchases.

1
Argos Triumph of Bacchus. In theory, I'm on a no-buy through end of year; however, a small decant of this scent has me enchanted.

I'm going to sample: Quelques Fleurs L'Original Eau de Parfum , Teint de Neige Eau de Toilette and Musa Paradisiaca. Hopefully I will love one of them, I'm looking for something that I will love as much as I love my L'air du Temps but would be something different for a change.

2

Any Ariana perfume, I can't really buy anything right now since I'm on a budget but I want full size bottles of everything she has come out with. Mod Vanilla Eau de Parfum and Sweet Like Candy Eau de Parfum are my top choices.

2

Number 1 on my list is Layton . I had a miniature of it and I was so sad it’s empty! I know I know it’s popular and everyone knows it but hey I just enjoy wearing it so much!

2

I desperately want to try Lunamaris by Diptyque!

@Skender, great choices. I'm super intrigued by "Hibiscus MahaJád | Maison Crivelli". Oud for Greatness Eau de Parfum is incredible, definitely recommend!

@CallMeTee, those Guerlains are so special and in a way you get what you pay for but still soo much 🙄 I'd own over half the collection if they were reasonably priced, they're all so good. Tobacco Honey, Néroli Plein Sud and Néroli Outrenoir are my favourites.

@BiliousBetil, Triumph of Bacchus Eau de Parfum is such a treat. I need to wear this more. Such a statement! Good luck with your no buy!

0

@Ringtale, love me some florals. What draws you to those ones in particular?

@snoopygrrl, good choices! All the Arianna's I've tried are mad good for the price.

@Ceesie, Layton might be popular to fragrance enthusiasts but it's still very unique to the majority of the population. And it's popular for a reason, the stuff is great! Hope you get your hands on a full bottle soon.
